Act 1
Added 2021-04-08 03:18:18 +0000 UTCI am over 60k words and have finished, more or less, act one of Book 6. I have to write a huge fight scene, but I'll kick that out as soon as I get in the mood to write 'combat'.
Writing an entertaining fight scene is one of the more challenging bits about writing a book. It's sort of like juggling, you need to have a certain number of balls in the air, or it's not interesting, but having that many balls in the air complicates everything.
Pacing, dialogue, action, humor all need to be on point for a good fight scene and they usually require the most revisions in any of my stories. I've gone through some fights upwards of 20 times to get them 'just right', which is something my editor HATES.
In any case, I'm busily cranking along.
