Futurama is one of my favorite things ever, I've been obsessed with it since I was a kid, and I agree with so many of your takes on it that watching your Futurama videos has me saying "yes!!" at my screen kind of a lot lol. Looking forward to the rest of these, and appreciated your commentary on this ep as always. One thing I thought of during your analysis of this episode's ending compared to other Sad Fry Episodes: my first thought when watching the ending was actually that it was similar to the ending montage in Leela's Homeworld, but with a total opposite emotional beat. We see Fry's mother helping him out without his knowledge, subtly working in the background to make him happy; but obviously it doesn't work the way she thinks it does, since the experience was traumatic for Fry. I actually wondered if it was an intentional parallel.
