They had the "Bleach" background because I think all the footage they showed was from before they went widescreen.

2022-05-03 17:48:15 +0000 UTCBleach was always left on a TBC status. The studio that was animating wanted to work on new projects, so bleach was put on pause. Then, that studio ended up cutting bleach altogether so we had no studio to animate until now

What I do know is the manga finished up like 8 years ago so that wasnt the issue. Hopefully you guys can catch up by the fall, Hueco Mundo arc has some banger fights but the pacing is definitely terrible.
