Added 2016-11-05 22:25:01 +0000 UTCWe're at the goal! This is so much sooner than I expected, and I don't even know what to say. A simple "thank you" really doesn't feel like enough. Know that I'll work with you all in mind, doing my best not to let you down.
The mission here, in case it's not already clear, is to fan the flames of math-love around the world, and even to spark them in those lucky cases where it's possible. I firmly believe that to do this in a meaningful way requires making videos that go into the math itself, into the essential reasoning behind an idea, rather than just talking about that idea with an extrinsic claim that it is beautiful.
I have faith enough in people's sincere desire for real understanding that this principle should not limit the potential audience size too much. But if it does, I have you all to thank for the fact the income of this channel will be as much a function of quality as quantity, and that my own incentives can remain well-aligned with the mission.
It's much too early to talk about expansion; I must focus on consistently making videos for the foreseeable future. But one thing I'd like to do down the road should things continue going well is get translated versions of all videos made: 3b1b Français, 3b1b Español, 3b1b 中文 (figure out bilibili?), etc.
