Square Sketchbook Designs!

Hi fish fries, sorry for the late night update, just wanted to share these with you all! I've been working on releasing new sketchbooks and wanted to work with square ones again (the feeling of square sketchbooks is so satisfying?? is it just me do I just really like square shapes LMAO 💦💦)! The last time I made square sketchbooks was back in 2018 when I made them for the first time featuring my first original project which I titled "Centre of the Universe" (the last two photos) which I made a series of merchandise with a corresponding theme! I had a lower following back then & I had a lot of stock for sometime (I sold out of them just this year) so it's been a while since I've revisited the product!

I actually just finished designing and drawing up the postcards for September & October's Deluxe rewards (Sunfish & Oarfish!!!) and after learning how to draw the oarfish a little nicer, I wanted to make a sketchbook for one bc honestly?? I just love drawing them!! Their shapes and how long their fins are is kind of soothing to draw (if that makes sense??). I don't really do a lineless style of coloring that often, so the oarfish piece was a simple way of exploring a style of coloring that I usually don't do!

For the sailor sharks design I've lovingly titled Zamedachi (a reference the word "zame" meaning shark in japanese and "dachi" being an informal shortening to the word "tomodachi" meaning friends) as I really wanted to make a fun and happy nautical theme with sharks! I originally wanted to work on just a shark piece but honestly the idea of them in sailor outfits is so cute and in the end it became something very playful! I'm personally fond of the teal-ish blue colors and toying with it when converting with CMYK was difficult but I'm happy with the process!

I'm hoping I should have these in hand hopefully in October or November! As always, the quantities will be limited on these (I'm planning on making 25 of each) but I'll keep you all updated with photos on this post when it's up on my store!
