Jerry battler Concept Mock up

Had some time tonight to whip up another mock up of how things could look in battles, using a concept of my old character Jerry, who we're actually considering as a first boss for the Demo.
This is a good indicator of how we'd like the battles to look. Kinda colorful and cartoony but with a realistic look to it as well. This is just a mock up though, not how things will look and this was a really quick concept of Jerry, so I might take another stab at him later, but it's cool seein how things could potentially look. ^_^

We got some new stuff to show ya'll soon actually. ^^ We're just pacing ourselves with all the information, dont want to unload everything we got to show all at once. Anyway, we dont have a Bunnie sprite made for battle yet. Sally's spritesheet has a long way to go ^^; We're trying to hire more sprite artists to help us out with this so we can speed things along!

That "sprite" of Jerry isn't a sprite at all, that's a full drawn image of Jerry put into the game as a 'battler'. In classic RPGs like Final Fantasy you'll notice the battlers look way more detailed and even realistic than the characters, and that's because the characters are 'sprites'! they're animated pixelated characters. This is why Sally looks "blocky" to you. However, for a sprite, this one of Sally is extremely high quality! Take a look at some examples of basic sprites for RPG Maker games or even sprites from the Sonic Advance and Genesis games to see how much higher quality sprites these are compared to them.
