If the voices of the machine elves are coming from the level of reality hypothesized by the 'no-hiding' theorem in physics or communications from outside our UI as Donald Hoffman would put it, that's another, perhaps '4th dimension' of causality outside of spacetime as we know it which is only looks baffling until we consider that it's just a layer of the same multidimensional object that we'd call the universe and it's chains of causality. In this sense I do think, just like Donald Hoffman's Case Against Reality, there's probably a lot of relevance that can be found in Eric Weinstein's concept of a universe that writes itself (similar to David Chalmer's ideas of emergence as a sort of dualism or perhaps dual-action monism). Maybe not every last bit of it is 'useful' in the immediate sense but it all provides touch points for orientation.

Daniel Schmachtenberger often talks about this as the metamorphosis of our culture from caterpillar to butterfly and we're going into something like a larval state right now. The alternatives to that transformation, as noted in the John Gray article I mentioned above are 1) neofeudalism as the whole post-industrial world becomes a corporate oligopoly run by modern serfs, 2) a new dark age or chaos if the 'new religion' or whatever other anti-intellectual movements come together through the power of atavistic archetypes getting activated in human culture as we fall back on increasingly primitive circuitry when things get bad. The goal is really to figure out a way out of that which doesn't involve an outcome of totalitarianism, neofeudalism, or a new dark age.

To the degree that cluster B personality disorders and arms races of the sort that no one can refuse are kicked off by them it guarantees destruction of the epistemic commons unless we're able to somehow either push back against it (game theory combined with our technology seems to make it so that hardly anyone has the backbone and lack of vulnerability to do so effectively) and it's a bit like only an upgrade in the human OS of some type could get us through this.

For at least the last few years I've been looking for the connections between esoteric dialogs, including those with machine elves, and more common or secular dialogs, and this is a good example of where you have a mirror in both places. Our behavior as human beings, governed by game theory, is too vulnerable to survive the technology we have right now. Samo Burja, Sam Harris, and many others have taken to calling the internet the 'panopticon' and at least at present it's less a threat of totalitarianism for the moment than it is a threat of all of society being able to see - amplified - anything that happens anywhere as well as the power of internet mobs of even just a handful of bad actors to ruin a persons career which has induced even more cowardice in our politicians and that chilling effect of free speech in the wake of a new 'woke' religion and things like it is bringing a loss of freedom from a grassroots level (John Gray wrote an article about this on 6/17 in Unherd called 'The woke have no vision of the future' which gets into how what's happening in the US looks less like Bolshevism and more like a medieval mellinarian movement).
