Chapter 334: You're Hopeless.

The next scene was the two bridesmaids giving speeches on stage. To show their closer relationship with the bride, they competed for attention and bickered, saying some very embarrassing things that almost ruined the engagement ceremony.

Link was the groom and had no lines in this scene.

Each time the two bridesmaids finished speaking, the camera would turn to the bride Lillian and him, and he needed to react. At first, he smiled and applauded, and later he would make some exaggerated and funny expressions.

When acting in this kind of scene, Link found that acting in comedies wasn't easy either.

In literary films, the main focus was on understanding the character and using micro-expressions and eyes to reveal the character's emotions, making the performance natural, delicate, and moving.

Comedies were more extroverted, requiring exaggerated expressions and actions during the performance to make the character interesting and able to make the audience laugh.

It was hard to say which of these two acting styles was more difficult or easier. Link believed that extroverted and lively people were more suitable for comedies, while serious and introverted people were more suitable for literary films.

In comparison, Link felt that he was more suitable for literary films. Some actions in comedies made him feel embarrassed.

Before performing, he needed to repeatedly convince himself that he was just acting to be able to barely perform them. Therefore, his performance wasn't as good as Emma Stone, who was good at comedies.

Today's "engagement scene" was one of the climaxes of the entire movie and a very important scene.

The crew filmed at the Burbank studio for two days, and Link was also a background prop on set for a day and a half.

At around three o'clock in the afternoon, after finishing this scene, Link got in the car and followed Catherine back to her newly purchased apartment in the metropolitan area. Little Annie had also been brought here not long ago.

"Annie, am I good to you?"

"Yes!"

"Then who do you like the most?"

"Mommy!"

"Besides Mom and Dad?"

"Link Selena!"

"Wait, why is my name after Link's? No, you have to say Selena first, then Link. We're best friends, understand? Link is a nasty guy, we don't like him."

In the living room, Selena peeled grapes, eating one herself and then feeding one to little Annie.

Little Annie ate the grapes, her bright eyes blinking. Suddenly, she saw a familiar person walk into the living room and immediately jumped off the sofa, running towards him.

"Link, you're back."

Link laughed and squatted down to pick up Annie.

The little girl was just four years old, with an apple head, bangs, and a pink and tender face, very well-behaved and cute.

"Annie, we just agreed we don't like him, why are you letting him hug you? Come down."

Selena said with dissatisfaction, hands on her hips.

"What are you teaching Annie all day? If you keep teaching her nonsense, I'll beat you up."

Link reached out and rubbed Selena's hair, messing up her new perm.

Selena angrily waved her fists to hit him, but Link only needed to press her forehead to easily dissolve all her attacks.

"Jerk! You only know how to bully girls."

Selena used her hands to tidy her bangs, her round face puffed up.

"Nonsense! I didn't get my golden belt by hitting girls."

Link smiled slightly, sat down on the sofa with Annie in his arms, and glanced at Selena. "Your previous braid looked good, why did you get a perm?"

"I'm eighteen, an adult. Having braids is too childish."

Selena rolled her eyes at him, sat on the sofa, and pulled Annie towards her.

Link looked at her cute baby face, paired with a more mature perm, and lipstick. She looked like a little girl who had secretly used her mother's makeup.

"How's the practice for your new song going?"

"Great! We don't talk anymore, we don't talk anymore, isn't it good? When are we releasing the single?"

Selena sang a few lines and asked proudly.

"Not bad. I don't have time to record recently, maybe in August. It can also help promote your new album."

Link picked up a bunch of grapes, lay down on the sofa, and watched "The Simpsons" with Annie.

Selena shrugged and lay down next to him, poking his shoulder.

"The media says you have over twenty girlfriends and are the biggest player in the entertainment industry. How does it feel to be labeled a playboy?"

"It doesn't matter. A little bad reputation doesn't affect me much." Link said nonchalantly.

Selena snorted softly, "I warned you before, with a girlfriend like Taylor, don't mess around outside. Look at you now? I think you should find a way to win Taylor back, she's the most suitable for you."

Taylor?

Link shook his head. After dating Emma Watson, Marion Cotillard, and Alexandra Daddario, he understood Taylor even less. He was so good to her, but just cheated once, how could she bear to break up with him?

Thinking about it, combined with Taylor's past experiences, the reason he could think of was that Taylor was too career-oriented and indifferent towards relationships, a ruthless woman, a true wild horse.

Even if he could win her back, he wasn't confident he could completely possess her.

In that case, he might as well learn from her and be more carefree about relationships.

"Do you want me to help you? I saw Taylor yesterday, and I scolded you in front of her."

Selena said with a smug smile.

"She's back from Nashville?"

"Yes, her new album will be released next month, and she's back for promotion. Do you want to see her? I can help you arrange it."

Selena said.

Link thought for a moment and decided to forget it.

When they were together, their relationship was deep, but Taylor also left decisively.

Three months after the breakup, with Taylor's carefree personality, the past feelings were probably gone. Seeing her again now would be useless.

Besides, he was now the biggest player in the industry, and Taylor might not welcome him.

"Demi Lovato, Vanessa Hudgens, and Miley, they're all your friends too. Why don't you introduce them all to me?"

"Introduce them all to you? Playboy, you're hopeless."

Selena kicked him and left with Annie, saying she wanted to stay away from him, the playboy.

"Dinner's ready!"

Catherine shouted from the dining room.

After lunch, Link took Annie and Selena to Disneyland.

Annie was young, so they mainly played children's rides like the carousel, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and bumper cars.

At first, Selena said playing these was boring, but once at the amusement park, she wouldn't let go of the children's toys and had even more fun than Annie, not at all like an eighteen-year-old girl.

Link's main task was to ensure their safety, and also to help them take pictures and carry bags.

At the carousel, they also met Jessica Alba, who was there with Honor. However, she was busy on the phone, leaving Honor in the care of the nanny.

Honor was eight months younger than Annie, wearing a little floral dress, and also very cute. Together with the round-faced Selena, they were three little cuties.

Link took many pictures of them.

At around seven in the evening, he drove them home and then drove back to his Santa Monica Bay villa.

In the summer, the trees and branches in the villa were even more lush and green, and the lawn, which hadn't been trimmed for over a month, was overgrown with weeds.

Link stood on the driveway in front of the door, looking at the quiet and empty building. Even though the lights were on inside, it still felt deserted. He found that this place didn't seem suitable for living anymore.

Thinking of what Selena said during the day, he sent a message to Taylor, asking her how her new album was and if she was confident in beating "The Woman I Love."

After a while, Taylor didn't respond. Link put down his phone, did ten sets of sit-ups in the gym, showered, and went to bed. When he woke up the next day, he received a message on his phone.

"Of course!"

Link shook his head. This woman was still so confident.

But thinking that most of the songs on her new album were about him being a playboy, coupled with the current negative news, Link felt that the days ahead wouldn't be easy. He would probably be cemented as the biggest player of the year.

"Remember our bet? That time in the recording studio in January."

Link sent the message, but after a few minutes, there was no reply. He changed into his running shoes and went out for a morning jog.
