*Chapter 141: Why Aren’t There More Charlotte Linlins on the High Seas?*
Added 2024-09-04 11:56:57 +0000 UTCAfter Charlotte Linlin’s power increased, the battle started to become more complicated.
The image they had envisioned of Uchiha Reijin being cut down with one blow didn’t materialize.
Instead, every time Uchiha Reijin took a desperate risk, he managed to escape from Charlotte Linlin’s grasp by sheer luck.
After a full day and night of fighting, the entire island was unrecognizable.
The mountains that once stood tall were now nothing but a field of craters.
As for the animals on the island, how many could still be alive?
The battle had reached a stalemate, and they hadn’t been able to defeat Reijin in a short time.
This was a huge loss for Charlotte Linlin.
After all, she had consumed her own life force without defeating Reijin.
If she continued, she’d have to deplete her life force again.
But Charlotte Linlin wasn’t willing to do that; her life force wasn’t unlimited.
If this went on, she’d leave today with white hair.
She might eventually take down Reijin, but the cost would be immense.
It was clearly a lose-lose situation!
After ending her terrifying form, Charlotte Linlin reverted to her normal state to fight Reijin.
She seemed to have noticed something odd: this kid in front of her didn’t seem to be using his full strength.
“Charlotte Linlin, it seems like neither of us can do anything to the other.”
“How about we talk? Continuing this fight will only benefit others.”
“Our goal has never been to kill each other; we’re just trying to gain something.”
“My goal is almost within reach, and I can give you what you want too.”
“This ocean isn’t just about fighting and killing!”
Uchiha Reijin suddenly stopped, and the Susanoo sword in his hand didn’t come down.
Inside Susanoo, Uchiha Reijin’s face looked worn and tired.
On the surface, he didn’t seem injured, but that was only because Kamui had allowed him to dodge well.
The attacks from this old woman in front of him were ferocious; relying solely on Susanoo wasn’t enough.
His Susanoo had been destroyed countless times by this old woman.
If not for his immense chakra and terrifying stamina, he wouldn’t have lasted this long.
“Kid, what’s your goal?” Charlotte Linlin asked, her face showing a knowing expression after a day and night of battle.
She had sensed something was off earlier, and now it was clear this kid had a plan.
“My goal is simple: cooperation! I want to make the Uchiha clan strong and powerful.”
“But you old pirates have looked down on me, not taking me seriously.”
“So I had to show my strength to make you acknowledge me.”
“Charlotte Linlin, if we sit down at the same table to eat now, would you still have a problem?”
Reijin asked with a playful smile, looking at Charlotte Linlin.
It’s normal for a newcomer not to be taken seriously.
Even holding a title like Shichibukai, everyone knows it’s just a tag from the World Government.
Whether strong or weak is still uncertain; it could be just a waste for all they know.
After all, look at Gecko Moria, Kaido’s defeated foe, who lost his entire pirate crew.
He eventually fled from Onigashima and, with the World Government’s help, established a pirate crew in the Florian Triangle.
Or take Crocodile, another defeated foe of Whitebeard, who lost an arm in battle.
Now, he’s just bluffing in the first half of the Grand Line, rarely daring to venture into the New World.
The title of Shichibukai was ruined by these two, lowering its prestige and making it seem like a worthless organization.
And how many pirates respect the World Government? The Celestial Dragons have already tarnished its reputation.
Now, the strength Reijin showed was enough to prove he wasn’t like those two failures.
He was fully qualified to sit at the same table as Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, and Whitebeard.
He wasn’t like a rookie pirate but more like someone from their era.
“Mamamama, I admit you have the qualifications, but as for achieving your goal...”
“I haven’t gotten what I want yet. How could this battle end?”
Charlotte Linlin’s lips curled into a cold smile.
If it had been before, she indeed didn’t take Reijin seriously.
But now, this guy in front of her was indeed qualified to sit at the same table as them.
If he wanted to declare his strength to the sea by stepping on her shoulders, he’d have to pay a price.
“What you want is the Uchiha clan’s bloodline, right? I can give you one of our clansmen.”
“With a monster physique like yours, a powerful monster could emerge in the future.”
“It’s not impossible for someone stronger than me to appear. I could even teach them all the Uchiha clan’s ninjutsu and abilities.”
“Charlotte Linlin, this should satisfy you, right? If not, I could even send someone from another clan over to you.”
---
"And besides, haven't you wanted Cake Island for a long time now? I’ve also set my sights on Cake Island and plan to declare war on the Whitebeard Pirates."
"How about the two of us team up and take down that old guy Whitebeard? He’s hogging way too many resources."
Uchiha Raijin said with a smile, as the Susanoo around him instantly disappeared.
He did a flip in the air and landed smoothly on the ground.
He then re-tied the Flame Fan back onto his back. He didn't really need it anymore.
"Ma ma ma ma, you’ve got some nerve."
"You killed one of my daughters, and yet you still dare to stand in front of me like this."
Charlotte Linlin licked her lips, tightly gripping Napoleon in her hand.
The flames on Napoleon’s sword flared even more intensely, looking like they could unleash a terrifying slash at any moment.
But Raijin stood there motionless, as if he was just waiting for Charlotte Linlin to snap.
"Such courage! Why don't you just..."
Charlotte Linlin chuckled, and Napoleon instantly transformed into a hat, returning to her head.
"No! Impossible. I’ll give you some of my people, but nothing else. Don’t even think about it."
Raijin’s face darkened—this woman was actually eyeing his body.
Even if Charlotte Linlin could have more kids, Raijin had no interest at all.
She’s like public transportation—everyone rides for free. Even a dog would hold its nose and walk away.
In his original world, she’d be considered a rich cougar.
But Raijin is the first generation of wealth, and he has no need to cozy up to a cougar.
"No! I meant, how about we arrange a marriage between our two families? You can pick one of my daughters, and I’ll marry her to you."
"I’m sure that’s no problem for you, right? If you’re not interested..."
"Then we don’t need to discuss this cooperation anymore. Let’s just keep fighting."
Charlotte Linlin squinted, her red-glowing eyes fixed on Raijin.
She wanted more than just cooperation—she wanted to uncover the secrets of the Uchiha clan.
Charlotte Linlin didn’t believe that this kid in front of her would reveal everything. She needed someone to keep an eye on him, to make sure he didn’t cheat her.
"Of course, but I hope she’s at least decent-looking. The Uchiha clan cares a lot about aesthetics, after all. Most of us are pretty good-looking."
Raijin was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled.
Honestly, he couldn’t think of any good reason to refuse such a request.
"Ma ma ma ma, I didn’t expect you to have such a peculiar demand, but it’s fine. I’ll agree to it."
"But I never thought you’d dare declare war on the Whitebeard Pirates!"
Charlotte Linlin sat down on the island and pulled out a Den Den Mushi from her chest.
She immediately called for her people to bring over some food. After a day and night of fighting, Charlotte Linlin had regained her slender figure.
But now she was starving—she could probably eat a person whole.
"That so-called ‘Knight of the Sea’ Jinbei and his Fish-Man clan offended me by refusing to kneel before my palace and hand over Fish-Man Island as an apology."
"Aren’t you after the sweets from Fish-Man Island? All I want is the island. You can have the sweets."
"Every month, you’ll get a fixed amount—more than enough to satisfy your needs."
Raijin thought of Shirahoshi and narrowed his eyes.
The ancient weapon is something he can’t let Charlotte Linlin find out about, at least not for now.
As for Fish-Man Island, it doesn’t really interest Raijin.
He’s only after the ancient weapon. The fate of Fish-Man Island? He couldn't care less.
They’re just Fish-Men. If they die, so be it.
As long as that Fish-Man Princess doesn’t die in his hands, that’s all that matters.
"Ma ma ma ma, no problem! But we’ll do it after the marriage between our families."
"Until then, I won’t lift a finger against the Whitebeard Pirates for you."
Charlotte Linlin was certainly interested in the sweets from Fish-Man Island.
Without a marriage alliance, she wouldn’t fully trust Raijin.
She was afraid this brat would use her as a shield.
"Of course!"
Raijin nodded. Why would he refuse Charlotte Linlin now?
He was relying on her to help him have kids, after all.
The system's criteria were vague—he just needed the Uchiha clan to be strong.
It didn’t matter whether they were under his command or not.
As long as they carried Uchiha blood in their veins, that was enough.
Where they were or whether they were enemies of the Uchiha clan didn’t matter.
Raijin’s only thought now was to borrow a chicken to lay eggs.
With Charlotte Linlin's help, who knows how many kids with Uchiha blood will be born?
Given the monstrous nature of Charlotte Linlin’s offspring, they’d certainly have a head start over others!
Maybe even an A-rank talent right from the beginning.
That’s way better than relying on luck.
At least with Charlotte Linlin’s genes, the minimum level won’t be too low.
Damn it!
Why aren’t there more people like Charlotte Linlin on the seas?
If there were, the Uchiha clan could dominate in no time.
"What’s going on? Why’d they stop fighting?"
"Why are they sitting and chatting now?"
"Boring! I want to see blood!"
"Are these two teaming up? If they do, the seas are in for an earthquake."
"Damn it, where are the people from Dressrosa? Aren’t you going to explain this?"
The crowd of onlookers was in an uproar. They even saw members of the Big Mom Pirates bringing over food.
The two who were fighting to the death earlier were now sitting down and eating together. Is that right?
No matter how you look at it, it’s not right! Shouldn’t they be fighting to the death?
Now they’re just sitting together, making everyone’s expectations go to waste.
The host from Dressrosa also looked awkward, unsure of what to say.
This was Lord Raijin’s decision. He was just a small fry with nothing to say.
He kept quiet, and as for the pirates demanding an explanation...
Tch, a bunch of trash. Why should Dressrosa explain anything to them?
He really wanted to call out Lord Uchiha Iron Fire and show these fools the pride of the Uchiha clan.
The Seven Warlords of the Sea also squinted as they watched the scene unfold.
They understood that there were no eternal enemies on the seas, only mutual interests.
But they didn’t expect these guys to switch from enemies to partners so quickly.
Crocodile headed back to his ship—he already knew what was going to happen next.
This kind of thing happens all the time on the seas. Where’s the so-called justice in that?
The Seven Warlords of the Sea weren’t interested, but the Navy sure was.
Sakazuki and Kuzan both had subtle expressions on their faces.
They hadn’t expected that the Seven Warlords would team up with a great pirate.
The Seven Warlords were supposed to balance out these great pirates on the seas.
But if the Seven Warlords surrender too, what’s the point of that balance?
"Damn it, Uchiha Raijin must have another agenda."
"That guy actually wants to team up with Charlotte Linlin. Does he not want to be a Warlord anymore?"
Sakazuki's face was dark—what, wasn’t the Navy good enough? Why team up with someone else?
"Of course, this Uchiha Raijin must have ulterior motives. Didn’t we already suspect that?"
"It’s time to head back and report this to Fleet Admiral Sengoku."
Kuzan called for a lounge chair, sat down, and flipped the eye patch over his eyes.
Seeing the filth of the seas really made him sick.
