Chapter 155: The Psychological Offensive Seems Useless
Added 2024-09-05 02:33:19 +0000 UTCAfter the ninjas landed on the island, their first action was to plant explosive tags around Amazon Lily. They weren’t sure of the exact strength of Amazon Lily’s defenses, so they didn’t want to take any chances.
Kakashi’s plan was to blow this entire group sky-high.
But if they only used explosive tags, Kakashi felt that even if they used all of them, it wouldn’t be effective.
So, they prepared a few other surprises for Amazon Lily.
What worried Kakashi the most hadn’t happened yet. He just hoped this battle would end quickly.
In an instant, the people behind Kakashi also charged forward.
And at some point, Katakuri had arrived.
Seeing Kakashi’s men charging, he rushed forward to meet them.
With his tall frame and trident in hand, his eyes flashed with a red glow. He showed no mercy, no matter who he faced.
Seeing the two sisters beside Hancock, he thrust his trident without hesitation.
“Sticky Spear Thrust!!”
Katakuri’s trident spun and instantly shot towards Hancock’s sisters.
The trident turned into a whirlwind, and if it struck, it would create a massive, bloody hole.
“Bang!”
One of the sisters transformed into a snake, grabbed a piece of rubble with her tail, and threw it at Katakuri.
But the rubble met Katakuri’s trident and turned to powder.
This level of attack didn’t slow Katakuri down for even a second.
“Sister!!”
Sandersonia cried out, and in the next moment, two giant snakes appeared.
A long tail wrapped around Katakuri’s leg from behind, but it only caused him to pause momentarily.
In the next instant, Katakuri’s entire body turned into a mass of sticky mochi and reappeared elsewhere.
“So, you’re Katakuri from the Big Mom Pirates. I didn’t expect you to become Doflamingo’s lapdog.”
Sandersonia licked her lips with her forked tongue as she looked at Katakuri.
Although Katakuri was once Charlotte Linlin’s right-hand man, the two sisters weren’t far behind in strength.
They had followed Hancock for years, and if they weren’t strong, they’d have died on the sea long ago.
That’s why they had the courage to stand in front of Katakuri and challenge him.
“Working with Dressrosa is just following orders from Mama. Calling me a lapdog is a bit much.”
“As for you, you should have died at sea. You have no sense of danger!”
“Dying by my hand is much better than dying at the hands of those from Dressrosa.”
A red light flashed in Katakuri’s eyes.
He had already seen the actions of these people in the future.
In the next moment, Katakuri’s hand suddenly expanded.
It swelled dozens of times, instantly becoming a massive iron ball.
He swung it backward, wrapping Sandersonia’s giant snake tail around it.
Before Sandersonia’s sister could act, Katakuri’s Observation Haki had already seen the future. Every move they made, whether attacking or trying to escape, was clear as day to Katakuri.
“Roar!”
Katakuri swung his massive arm, smashing it down towards Sandersonia in front of him.
The two sisters were piled on top of each other, both with blood at the corners of their mouths.
Why?
Why did it feel like they hadn’t even made a move, yet this guy had already defended against it?
It was as if he could foresee their actions, like the legendary ability to see the future.
Their hearts sank, feeling like this man had completely seen through them.
In front of him, they had no secrets at all!
Hancock’s coat was partly blown to pieces, and she emerged from the smoke with a tattered coat.
She hadn’t expected the enemy to plant bombs under their feet, and she didn’t even know what kind of bombs these were; they had never seen anything like them.
The only explanation was that it was a ninja technique, which made Hancock even more cautious about the upcoming battle.
It was her first time fighting ninjas, and the previous assassination attempt by a ninja had already surprised her.
Now, the man in front of her hadn’t even shown his full power.
“Snake Princess, a call from the Navy!”
Elder Nyon came running out of a building at this moment.
She had been contacting reinforcements, and now she had managed to get in touch with the Navy.
But the Navy’s attitude made Elder Nyon’s heart grow cold.
Could the rumors in the newspapers really be true?
Hancock shot a cold glance at Elder Nyon; she wasn’t about to ask the Navy for help.
Did they come to mock her? As one of the top pirates on the seas, she hadn’t fallen so low as to beg for help.
Even if she died here, she would never ask the Navy for aid.
“You should answer it anyway!”
Kakashi smiled as he spoke to Hancock.
“You lowly scum, don’t think you can force me to ask the Navy for help,” Hancock said, her long hair flowing as she arrogantly replied.
Her demeanor made those who noticed her swallow unconsciously.
After all, the beauty of Dressrosa was beyond their comprehension.
And with the addition of the Love-Love Fruit, even a single smile could stir a man’s nerves.
But Kakashi’s face remained expressionless. Before coming here, he had already prepared himself with hypnosis.
Honestly, Kakashi wasn’t very interested in women now; he was more interested in men.
He knew he was hypnotized, and when he returned, he would need to correct his dangerous thoughts.
This time, the hypnosis was to prevent himself from being bewitched by Hancock’s beauty.
“I don’t think you pirates have any nobility to speak of! But the Navy probably isn’t the reinforcements you were expecting, right?!”
---
"Maybe I’m the one who brought the persuader here! That’s also a possibility!" Kakashi said with a subtle, intriguing expression as he rubbed his white hair.
He was constantly trying to apply psychological pressure on Hancock. But, to be honest, Kakashi felt strange about it.
In the world of ninjas, there are bonds that make them care about their friends and family. However, out on this ocean, it seems those bonds don’t exist. They all speak as if they’re ready to die the moment they set sail.
This makes it impossible for Kakashi to successfully apply pressure; only enemies with some weakness in their hearts would be affected. Even these pirates seem to care little about their own lives!
Kakashi felt that these words of his weren’t as effective as a few trash-talking lines he could’ve learned from Raijin.
But even if it wasn’t working, Kakashi had unconsciously started treating it as another weapon in his arsenal.
“Bam!”
Hancock suddenly leaped forward, landing directly in front of Kakashi. She kicked him squarely in the neck.
Kakashi was sent sprawling on the ground, and a petrification began to slowly spread across his body, threatening to completely engulf him.
"So what if you’re with the Navy? I didn’t become a Warlord of the Sea just because the Navy appointed me—I’m strong enough on my own."
"Even without the Warlord title, I wouldn’t care in the slightest!" Hancock sneered coldly, lifting her foot to stomp on Kakashi's petrified head, intending to crush it completely.
"Sizzle—"
A flash of electricity surged, and the Kakashi under Hancock’s foot suddenly turned into a blue arc of lightning, instantly traveling up her leg and spreading across her body.
"Ah!" Hancock gasped, retreating two steps. She hadn’t expected that her attack was on a current of electricity.
Her Haki had clearly sensed that Kakashi was a living being. How did it turn out like this?
"It seems you’re a Warlord just like Lord Raijin, fighting your way to the top with raw power! I won’t underestimate you anymore. I’ll take you seriously and break your will before dragging you to Dressrosa."
Kakashi emerged from the ruins without a scratch. He had been hiding in the rubble, using a clone to bait out Hancock’s moves. This was typical for Kakashi—he never underestimated anyone.
In this sea, eating a Devil Fruit is like gaining a secret technique or a bloodline limit. Until he’s fully gauged an opponent’s strength, Kakashi would never risk himself recklessly.
"You’re such a boring man! But I want to end this fight quickly."
Hancock felt the electricity fade from her body and saw the clarity in Kakashi’s eyes. She sighed in exasperation—she hadn’t expected Dressrosa to send a bunch of men interested in her to cause trouble.
Yet somehow, these kinds of people still existed out here on the ocean.
"It’s definitely about to end."
Kakashi looked up at the sky, noticing the storm clouds gathering overhead. This meant the rest of the battle would be in his hands.
"Lightning Serpent!"
Kakashi raised his hand toward the sky, and a lightning serpent appeared behind him, shooting into the clouds and disappearing into the storm.
"Boom!"
The next moment, a loud rumble echoed from the clouds, and a fierce bolt of lightning struck down, spreading in all directions.
The area within a hundred meters around Hancock and Kakashi was now surrounded by crackling electricity. Arcs of lightning flashed across the air, and just a touch could send shivers through the body.
“Crackle—”
As the lightning struck down, Kakashi’s figure vanished from the spot. Hancock looked around, her expression serious. She hadn’t expected this guy to merge with the lightning.
In this area, Kakashi’s speed was at its peak. Every arc of electricity could be considered him.
What kind of Devil Fruit does this guy have? To possess such incredible power...
“Thunder Dragon!”
Roar! A roar suddenly erupted from Hancock’s left side, a massive dragon of lightning charging toward her. Hancock moved swiftly, attempting to dodge.
But she was surrounded by electric arcs!
With just a slight movement, her body was paralyzed by the electricity. She could only watch as the roaring dragon closed in, ready to swallow her whole.
“Boom!”
Kakashi observed the scene, the center of the battlefield lit up with blinding lightning. Even the soil was blasted into the air, yet his eyes remained calm.
"Did she withstand six million volts?"
"These people are really strong, worthy of being top fighters on the ocean."
"But with Mihawk as my sparring partner, I’m starting to understand the limits of these guys."
"With this voltage, it’s possible to survive with Armament Haki, but they might not be so lucky next time."
Kakashi looked at the scorched earth at the center of the battlefield. Even the ground was charred, yet Empress Hancock still resisted within the range, truly a monster.
However, Kakashi considered Charlotte Linlin even more terrifying.
She didn’t have the Goro Goro no Mi, but her lightning attacks were even more powerful than his.
"Thunder Dragon!"
"Thunder Dragon!"
"Thunder Dragon!"
Five Thunder Dragons rampaged across the battlefield, their bright lightning illuminating the entire island. The members of the Kuja Pirates anxiously watched Hancock, desperate to rush in and help her resist the lightning.
Kakashi wiped a bit of sweat from his brow. Continuously releasing six million volts was taking its toll on him. If not for his integration of Hashirama cells and Lunarian bloodline factors, along with the Uchiha bloodline factors, he’d likely have been exhausted just releasing one Thunder Dragon.
Moreover, he had been focusing on developing the Goro Goro no Mi’s application in conjunction with Observation Haki. He hadn’t fully explored the fruit’s offensive capabilities yet, relying on his understanding of Lightning Release to crudely use the power.
But this level should be sufficient!
Kakashi narrowed his eyes, his Sharingan spinning slightly, able to see Hancock’s figure through the lightning.
However, he was surprised to see that three earthen walls had formed a triangle, blocking the Thunder Dragon in front of Hancock. The walls were scorched black, electrocuted by the Thunder Dragon.
"I didn’t expect her to pull that off."
Kakashi squinted; it seemed only the first Thunder Dragon had landed. The other five were wasted efforts.
"Lightning Blade!"
Kakashi opened his hand slightly, a blade of lightning forming in his grasp, purely made of electricity with no physical substance.
“Slash!”
Kakashi's hand suddenly erupted with powerful electric sparks, causing the blade in his hand to lengthen rapidly.
Utilizing the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, Kakashi slashed the lightning blade in a wide arc around him. The massive blade spun in his hand, and only a few sparks flashed around.
“Slice!”
The center of the battlefield revealed a clean cut, and everything around was split in two.
“Crack!”
The earthen wall at the center of the lightning’s wrath also had a clear mark. The wall slowly crumbled, exposing a huge gap.
In the next moment, the Thunder Dragon seemed to sense blood and devoured the figure inside completely.
This time, Kakashi truly relaxed. He had finally stripped Hancock of her will to fight.
