*Chapter 237: It Really Feels Good*

"Hey, Richard!"

Someone called from downstairs.

"Scarlett, I'm here!"

Since the car accident last time, Scarlett often came over to visit. She lived in an apartment near Beverly Park, so it wasn't far.

Thump, thump~ Scarlett Johansson ran upstairs, wearing a tank top and tight pants, her golden hair flowing loose, her cheeks flushed, looking vibrant and lively.

"Richard, why are you lying here alone?"

"How many people do you expect me to be with?"

Richard handed her a glass of iced fruit juice.

"Haha, you're a boxing star, rich and handsome. It's normal to have lots of women around you. It's abnormal for you to be alone, unless you're... hehe~"

"Stop overthinking things. Have you finished your homework?"

"I'm on summer break, okay?"

Scarlett rolled her eyes at him and plopped down on the bench next to him, taking the time to give him a playful kick.

"Richard, you're so weird. The last time I came, you were lying here sunbathing. And now you're doing the same thing. Other people at 23 are in their prime, but you're already acting like a retiree."

Scarlett kicked her legs, laughing heartily.

Richard shook his head. "After training every day, all I want to do is lie here and soak up some sun to relax my muscles. That's what feels the best."

Scarlett mimicked his lazy posture and lay down. "Mmm~ It really does feel good. Mmm~ So comfortable."

"Stop making weird noises!"

Richard said, rubbing his forehead.

"Does my voice sound sexy?"

Scarlett asked, leaning on the armrest with a smile.

"It's okay, kind of sounds like a cat."

"Haha, you're the one who sounds like a cat."

Scarlett chuckled, "Richard, haven't you been filming lately?"

"Yeah, there's a spy movie. In a couple of days, I'll be off to France for filming. Sigh, it's going to be a busy few months."

Richard took a sip of wine.

"Will you be gone for a few months? I was planning to spend the summer at your place, but too bad you won't be here. Richard, why don't I go to France with you? I could be your assistant, how about that? Wow, I think that's a great idea! Richard, what do you think?"

Scarlett pouted, shaking his arm playfully.

Richard shook his head. "If I dared to take you with me, your mom would have me thrown in jail tomorrow. Do you want me to spend the summer in jail?"

"I can explain it to my parents. I'll tell them I'm working during the summer to earn some living expenses. Look, I can act, I can do chores, and I'm really pretty. Wouldn't it be great to have an assistant like me?"

Scarlett said, puffing out her not-so-full chest.

Richard smiled softly. "Sure, as long as you can convince your parents and get them to sign the guardian agreement, I don't mind having a little follower."

"Great, it's a deal! I'll definitely convince my parents."

Scarlett clenched her fist in determination.

"Good luck!"

Richard laughed. He had met Scarlett's mom, Ms. Sloan, once. She was also a Jewish producer, somewhat famous in the industry, and quite strict. The idea that she would let Scarlett run off was unlikely.

"Richard, how about we go swimming? It's really hot."

Scarlett sat up again and asked.

"No, I just want to lie here quietly for a while."

Richard said lazily.

"Hmph, you're really like an old man."

Scarlett lay back down, then after a while, she rolled over, resting her head on her arms, staring at him without blinking. "Richard, our chairs are different. Yours seems more comfortable."

"..."

Richard closed his eyes, too lazy to respond.

"Richard, how about I lie on your side? Silence means yes."

Scarlett quickly ran over, lying down beside him, resting her head on his arm, curling up in his embrace.

"Holding me so tight, aren't you hot?"

Richard looked at her.

"Don't talk, I want to sleep for a bit."

Scarlett murmured with her eyes closed.

Richard shook his head and could only hold her as they rested.

In the afternoon, Scarlett had lunch at the villa and then left. After two hours of training, Richard continued to study the script for The Bourne Identity.

This movie is adapted from the TV series The Bourne Identity, which tells the story of a secret agent who loses his memory and, while evading a CIA manhunt, gradually uncovers his true identity.

The male protagonist, Jason Bourne, originally named David Webb, was once a U.S. Army officer who participated in the Gulf War. He joined the Special Forces and was promoted to Captain.

In 1999, Bourne voluntarily joined the CIA's "Treadstone" project. After rigorous training, he became proficient in multiple foreign languages, hand-to-hand combat, firearms, explosives, tracking, driving, and more. He developed a rapid response ability, strong logical thinking, and a reflexive crisis detection capability, becoming a lethal weapon for the CIA.

However, after a failed mission, he lost all his memories.

After losing his memory, Bourne's values changed significantly. He was no longer obsessed with violence and killing and only wanted to find his identity and live as an ordinary person.

But the leaders of the CIA's Treadstone project didn't want to let him go because he knew too many dark secrets, so they tried every possible way to kill him. However, the CIA had trained him too well, so even without his memory, he couldn't be easily killed.

Through repeated resistance, Bourne gradually came to understand himself.

This character is fantastic and distinctive, unlike the cool and tough leads in Mission Impossible or the 007 series, which heavily lean towards commercial appeal. Bourne in The Bourne Identity has a more civilian-like quality, with a heroism that resonates with ordinary people.

When Richard first got the script, he didn't want to pass up the role.

First, this character was a great fit for him. He was proficient in multiple languages, skilled in combat, firearms, driving, and had a certain level of special agent qualities. The role seemed written specifically for him.

Second, The Bourne Identity would be made into a series of films, which would be beneficial for his career—passing on it would be too much of a pity.

Now that he had the role, all that was left was to act well.

During this time, Richard, as the film's star, hired a professional special agent to give him specialized training, focusing mainly on hands-on abilities and professional knowledge.

In addition, he also asked Naomi to be his training partner, helping him rehearse. Among the people he knew, Naomi had relatively solid acting skills.

"Richard, I'm here!"

In the evening, Naomi arrived at the villa, wearing a T-shirt and a short skirt, looking fresh and pretty.

"Have you eaten? There's seafood soup, roast ribs, and fruit pie here."

"Sure!"

Naomi walked into the dining room with her hands in her pockets, leaned in, and took a sniff.

"Smells great!"

Naomi walked to the sink and, while washing her hands, said,

"Richard, I've got another lead role. It's in the remake of the Japanese horror film Ring. I just bought a copy of the original video. They say it's really scary—want to watch it later?"

"Sure!"

Richard handed her a towel. "How much is the pay this time?"

"Not as much as you, just $1.5 million!"

Naomi smiled.

"Not bad, you're almost a little rich lady now."

"Haha, not too bad, not too bad. But every time I think of how things used to be, sometimes I'm really afraid that, like in Mulholland Drive, it might all just be a dream!"

Naomi said softly.

Richard walked over, kissed her, and after a while asked,

"Does it feel real?"

"Very real!"

Naomi leaned against him and smiled.

"Come on, let's eat!"

After dinner, the two started rehearsing. Richard played the male lead, Bourne, and Naomi played the female lead, Marie.

"I'll give you ten thousand dollars—how about you drive me to Paris?"

Richard asked, holding a wad of cash.

"What? Do you think I'm an idiot?"

Naomi shook her head.

"You'd be an idiot not to agree."

Richard waved the cash.

"Is this a joke or a scam?"

Naomi looked at him, frowning.

"No, it's not a scam!"

Richard threw the money over.

"Oh, I missed it. Let's do it again!"

"Okay!"
