Chapter 208: The Arrival of the Four Emperors' Reinforcements
Added 2024-09-14 15:17:02 +0000 UTCEven though Konoha was no longer closely connected to them, they had been summoned this time to aid Konoha.
So, if Konoha faced a crisis, sending these undead soldiers to the front was the best option.
Killer Bee and others kept a close watch on Hashirama Senju, fearing that he might make a sudden move.
However!
Since Kaido had agreed with A, he wouldn’t let these guys slip away under his watch.
Kaido transformed into a small dragon, his tail twitching restlessly as it kept swaying.
"I'm here, and you still have the nerve to look for someone else?"
A beam of light formed in Kaido’s mouth, and in the next instant, a powerful burst of energy shot forth.
“Boom!”
A streak of red light flashed!
The terrifying energy engulfed Hashirama, Tsunade, and the others completely.
This energy was so overwhelming that even an ordinary vice-admiral could only try to endure it.
After all, Kaido’s attack was fast and explosively powerful.
“Tsunade!”
Tobirama Senju’s face grew serious as he instantly placed one hand on Tsunade’s shoulder, intending to use the Flying Thunder God Technique to move her to safety.
But Tsunade wasn’t the same as before; she now possessed extraordinary power.
She hadn’t been sitting idly by after joining the navy!
“Second Grandpa, stay behind me!”
Tsunade waved her hand and took a step forward.
Beneath her feet, vibrant green energy blossomed with each step, and the surrounding area was filled with life.
Tsunade's hands gradually turned green, and her feet seemed to root into the ground like tree roots.
“Forest Barrier!”
Tsunade stretched out her hands, and immediately, vines sprang up in front of her, forming what looked like a massive shield!
The next moment, a wave of scorching heat swept toward her.
“Boom!”
Tsunade managed to block all of Kaido's heat blasts with her barrier.
Watching the flames burning on the vines, Tsunade's lips curled into a smug smile.
Kaido’s flames, although vast in scale, didn’t last as long as those of the Uchiha. It was just a one-time burst, and Tsunade was confident she could intercept it.
"Is this Wood Style?"
Hashirama Senju looked puzzled as he glanced at the vines.
"Does Wood Style really look like this?"
Has Tsunade also awakened Wood Style now?
“My Wood Style doesn’t look like this,” Hashirama muttered, equally confused.
Tsunade's Wood Style seemed a bit off. It didn’t look like typical Wood Style; it resembled something more like a wooden creature.
"This isn't ordinary Wood Style!" Tsunade explained.
Even though she wasn’t entirely sure if what she was using was still considered Wood Style, ever since returning from the ninja world, she had been able to use something akin to Hashirama's Wood Style.
Tsunade was never short on chakra, and now, not even short on life energy.
As long as she was connected to the earth, she wouldn’t lack life energy, no matter the circumstances.
"Buzz!!"
A golden light flashed as Kaido noticed a dazzling golden figure beside him.
A giant golden Buddha continued to swell, and its massive hand descended upon Kaido like a crushing mountain.
"Kaido, have you forgotten about me?"
Sengoku unleashed a powerful shockwave at Kaido, distorting the air and crushing the surrounding space.
“Boom!”
Kaido didn’t hesitate, swinging his Kanabo (club) infused with Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki), enveloping it in overwhelming power.
“Boom!”
Even without direct contact, the ground couldn’t withstand the pressure and shattered into rubble.
A terrifying whirlwind swept across the battlefield, and at the center of their clash, a tornado spun violently.
The skies grew dark as clouds thickened, foretelling an imminent torrential downpour.
"Kaido isn’t someone you can take down quickly."
"If you really want to fight him, it’ll take at least ten days and ten nights."
Aokiji remarked calmly, standing beside Tsunade. Battles of this scale couldn’t be resolved in a short time.
As for fights like Luffy’s, those were the exception.
But for proper battles at sea, they usually lasted for days and nights.
Especially when it came to Kaido and Sengoku—both stood at the pinnacle of the sea. Their battles were a test of endurance, strength, and haki.
"Ten days and nights!"
Tobirama, Hashirama, and Mito exchanged glances, shocked.
What kind of monsters were they facing? A battle that could last this long? Couldn’t they feel hunger? Or would they take breaks?
Tobirama felt that Tsunade had joined a rather unusual organization.
“Let’s go help push back the enemies!”
“This place seems to be constantly at war. The people here all carry a murderous aura.”
“What a pitiful bunch. This place isn’t as nice as I imagined.”
Issho (Fujitora) said as he walked forward, holding a tree branch in place of his usual cane.
Where was his cane?
Well, it was left as collateral at a hot spring after Tsunade took all their money and vanished.
Now he had to use a branch as a cane, having decided not to dwell on it too much.
A massive energy ball!
No one knew when it had formed, but it was now hurtling toward Kuzan, releasing terrifying energy that surged relentlessly in his direction.
"Oh my, is this what they call a Tailed Beast? It seems somewhat similar to the Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits," Kuzan remarked thoughtfully, glancing at Eight-Tails Killer Bee.
Despite his calm words, his hands quickly conjured an ice wall, showing no hesitation.
Clang!
An instant later, the ice wall stood tall before them.
The Tailed Beast Bomb collided directly with the ice wall!
Boom!
The terrifying energy exploded in front of the ice wall.
"This is about as strong as Kaido's Heat Breath," Kuzan commented, observing the cracks forming on the ice wall.
He had intended to test the strength of the Tailed Beast's power. Now, it seemed there was indeed something intriguing here!
Perhaps...
They could have Fleet Admiral Sengoku take one back to Dr. Vegapunk for study? It would make a nice souvenir from the Shinobi World!
After all, they had been training in the Shikkotsu Forest, practicing Sage Mode to enhance their vitality.
Maybe when they returned, they could also bring back a Tailed Beast as a local specialty!
For some reason, the idea felt oddly amusing.
"Indeed, this Tailed Beast is a huge problem, but leave it to me. I’ll make sure it behaves and doesn’t cause any more chaos," Issho nodded in agreement.
This creature looked similar to the Sea Kings. Coincidentally, Issho's Devil Fruit powers were quite suited to subduing such monsters.
"Unfortunately, there’s no time to hand it over to you now. Trouble’s on its way," Kuzan said, turning his gaze in another direction.
He saw a sharp slash racing through the air toward them.
Boom!
The ice wall, already weakened by the Tailed Beast Bomb, was on the verge of collapse. Now, after taking that slash, it shattered into pieces, exploding into fragments.
"Ma ma ma ma, as expected, Kaido wasn’t lying! You guys really showed up."
"And to think, after we parted ways, I’d meet you lot again here."
A burst of laughter echoed from the sky as a huge figure slowly descended.
The massive form blotted out the sun, followed by an enormous flaming orb.
"Charlotte Linlin! I didn’t expect her to appear here," Kuzan mused, raising an eyebrow. "But... how is she missing an arm?"
His expression turned odd as he noticed Charlotte Linlin's empty sleeve, wrapped in white bandages. Yet her aura remained as fierce as ever, perhaps even more unhinged than before.
Who in the world could have dealt such a blow to someone like Charlotte Linlin?
Even Kuzan found it hard to believe.
"And her daughter, Smoothie, too? It looks like it’s turning into a four-on-four battle. This might get tricky."
"I don't think we'll be able to provide any more support now," Issho said, glancing toward Smoothie.
The upcoming fight was going to be lopsided!
After all...
He was currently without a weapon.
His strength wasn’t enough to face these powerful figures bare-handed. Going up against someone from the sea’s strongest crew with just a wooden stick... what did they think this was, Mihawk facing off against a rookie?
The pressure was building on Issho. No matter who he faced, he could feel the weight of the challenge.
Others might be able to walk away unscathed, but that wasn’t an option for him.
"They’ll just have to rely on their own skills now!" Kuzan noticed Issho’s dilemma, picking up a ninja sword from the ground and tossing it to him.
Once they returned to Marine Headquarters, they’d have a new blade made for Issho.
After all!
Issho had lost his sword covering their expenses.
Sigh!
"Linlin!?"
Kaido grinned as he clashed with Sengoku.
The two had exchanged blows several times, with neither gaining the upper hand. It was clear that the fight wasn’t going to end any time soon.
Kaido had been wondering how to deal with the people in front of him.
"Kaido! When this is over, I’m claiming my share of the spoils, whatever they may be!" Charlotte Linlin roared, her eyes glowing crimson. "If I’m not satisfied, I’ll come to your place to take it myself."
Since losing an arm, Charlotte Linlin had grown increasingly unstable, her entire demeanor far more savage. She no longer even seemed human.
