Chapter 134: The Deal with Superman's Father (Second Update)

Kryptonians can easily overpower Earthlings with their superior strength, but unless General Zod and his female lieutenant take action, these soldiers who have just begun to enjoy the benefits of the yellow sun of the solar system are still not quite on par with Atreus  right now.

When rescuing Lois earlier, Atreus  had personally gauged their power levels.

A regular Kryptonian soldier has a strength level of around 100 to 120 points. This doesn’t even account for the potential boost they might gain after prolonged exposure to the sun.

Such a value is considered explosive across the Earth and is even significantly higher than Captain America’s.

Unfortunately, for Atreus , who is now a demigod at this point in time, they are like flies that can be swatted away with a casual wave of his hand.

Atreus  calmly looked up to see seven more Kryptonian warriors in black armor entering his field of vision.

These Kryptonians, clad in metal armor that oddly resembles a cluster of vines, are unaware that with Atreus ’s senses fully unleashed, the entire 30-meter-diameter area surrounding him is within his attack range.

Atreus  drew his twin blades, and the iron chains attached to the hilts suddenly stood erect like iron poles. With a powerful swing of his swords, flames erupted from the blades and the chains.

Even though these aren’t the original version of Kratos’ "Blades of Chaos," the visual impact is fully displayed. With a series of spinning slashes, this fiery, wheel-like attack cut every enemy in the passage in half.

“*Screech!*” Even though it was the sound of metal shattering, it felt as effortless as a hot iron branding a sheet of A4 paper.

A thin golden line first appeared on the black armor of the Kryptonian soldiers. Then, along that line, it split in two. At the clean cut, the golden line transformed into a molten surface.

With this stunning slash, the lives of the Kryptonians vanished along with their proud warship.

Even Wonder Woman couldn’t help but secretly marvel at the sight. Not too long ago, Atreus  was a seemingly clueless, spoiled rich kid. Now, he moves like a highly-trained warrior, capable of executing Greek-style slashes with a captivating aesthetic of brutal beauty.

Beside him, Penthesilea plunged the divine sword she obtained from Achilles into the chest of an enemy. Though fundamentally a bronze sword, it easily overpowered the theoretically tougher Kryptonian armor, producing a peculiar, sharp "crack" as it tore through the metal.

Atreus  exhaled lightly, realizing that Kryptonian air is toxic to Earthlings. However, thanks to Jor-El’s tweaks, the air quickly transformed into Earth’s atmospheric components. The Kryptonian gases in the air weren't too high, allowing the three of them to endure with their extraordinary physiques.

But if this drags on, and General Zod or any remaining commanders regain control and revert the air back to the Kryptonian version, things could go south.

Atreus  was playing on borrowed time, seizing the moment when General Zod had just descended into Earth’s atmosphere, unable to do much.

By the time Zod reacts, he’ll have to face his old friend Jor-El’s beloved son—Superman.

 “Charge!”

The three Greek-inspired warriors formed an unstoppable arrowhead formation, fiercely advancing toward the bridge.

As companions recognized by Clark, Atreus  and his team enjoyed Superman’s father’s enthusiastic guidance. This bearded uncle, dressed in a grayish-brown robe, not only directed them but also elegantly opened key isolation doors for them.

He even deliberately lured a reasonable number of Kryptonian soldiers their way.

After losing a dozen lives, it seemed that a Kryptonian commander finally caught on: “Something is off with the ship. We’re being deliberately misled. You, inform the General immediately. You, go seize control of the ship’s systems. You three, follow me.”

One must admit that this lieutenant had a commendable professional instinct, though his reaction ended up costing him his life.

The hatch in front of him suddenly opened, and a short golden blade chained to iron sliced through the air like the first ray of sunlight piercing the night, hitting his face with such force that his entire facial features were deeply dented.

His eyeballs, which initially faced outward, now met in a cross-eyed stare.
Only after his face became a mess did the Kryptonian gas mask on his face belatedly explode, sending a flurry of broken pieces flying.

This wave effectively wiped out the last organized small unit of the Kryptonian defense force. By the time the trio reached the bridge, the Kryptonians were unable to mount another meaningful counterattack.

On the exposed bridge, Atreus  and his companions finally encountered an opponent, but it took them only an extra minute to slay him.

“Are you sure we shouldn’t keep any of them alive?” Wonder Woman asked with some curiosity.

Atreus  retorted, “If a wolf caught you and spoke human words, asking you to submit, would you comply?”

 “Of course not.”

 That’s the answer.

Every one of General Zod’s followers is a Kryptonian supremacist; they don’t care about the lives of other races and would never submit to what they see as a lowly Earthling.

Besides, Atreus  has better ways to get what he wants.

**System Notification:** *Congratulations to the host for killing Kryptonian scientist Nant (non). The host has gained 8 Intelligence Points (Future Tech) and the Kryptonian spaceship control manual.*

Atreus  secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Aside from giving him a bunch of red souls, ordinary Kryptonians really have nothing to offer. Their stats are much lower than Achilles’. Atreus  could use their red souls to strengthen the Canary Sisters at most.

At least there’s some gain now.

However, Atreus  immediately encountered a new problem. As he began to operate the starship’s systems with the newly acquired information, the system rejected his commands.

Superman’s father’s hologram reappeared: “The main control key for this starship is with General Zod. In fact, whenever he is free, he can completely control this ship and also wipe ‘me’ out.”

Atreus  keenly picked up on the detail in Jor-El’s words: “What do you propose?”

“We could make a small deal. You want a Kryptonian spaceship, and I want Kal and Earth to be safe. Our needs do not conflict, do they?”

“You’re right,” Atreus  nodded.

Jor-El waved his hand, and the main control screen of the Kryptonian starship displayed an image—Zod’s lieutenant, Faora-Ul, had just suspended the ship in front of the house of Clark’s adoptive mother.

Jor-El laid out his terms: “You help Kal get through this crisis, and I can, while Zod is otherwise occupied, help you detach the control of one of the landing crafts from the main ship. It will be yours from then on. Don’t worry, even such a landing craft still has hyperspace capabilities, but you’ll have to find a way to power it yourself in the future.”

“Deal.”
