*Chapter 142: Earth's Rules (Part 2)*

These words were spoken by Atreus to himself; no one else in this world would understand them.

To be fair, Faora-Ul is quite powerful on the Red Soul level.

As Zod's lieutenant, Faora is able to hold her own against Superman in his normal state. This alone makes her worth a million Red Souls, ten times that of a regular Kryptonian soldier, and twice that of an elite Kryptonian soldier.

Initially, Atreus had no intention of reviving Faora-Ul—this was truly an accident.

Kryptonians have a characteristic they themselves are unaware of—under the yellow sun of the solar system, as long as their heads aren’t severed and their bodies remain relatively intact, they can be revived in the truest sense.

In history, Superman once perished while fighting Doomsday to protect Earth, ultimately perishing along with the boss.

But Superman's story didn't end there.

Instead, during the Justice League event, Superman successfully resurrected, marking the triumphant return of a hero.

As a transmigrator, Atreus naturally wouldn't forget such an important plot point.

Superman’s ability to resurrect is closely tied to his power to absorb sunlight, which strengthens and heals him. In fact, the reason it took so long for him to come back to life was largely because his relatives had sealed his coffin, preventing him from absorbing the sun’s energy.

If they had left his body exposed in the wild for a few hours, Superman might have revived before they could even take him to the morgue.

Since Atreus could acquire abilities from the "Photosynthesis" series by killing other Kryptonians, this indirectly proved that the yellow sun's power had the same effect on all Kryptonians.

A thought popped into Atreus's mind—could he repeatedly kill Kryptonians to farm Red Souls?

Once the idea struck, Atreus decided to test it out.

He first practiced on a regular male Kryptonian soldier.

Sure enough, after being left in the sun for half a day, the guy revived.

Atreus killed him again.

But this time, no Red Soul appeared.

"What? Nothing at all!" Unconvinced, Atreus exposed the corpse to the sun once more.

"You lowly Earthling, you... ah—"

Atreus killed the guy again, but still, no Red Soul emerged.

He checked the system and found a notification: [The host has already extracted all soul essence from XXX. Further extraction is impossible.]

A new problem arose: When Atreus resurrected the guy, a corresponding portion of the Red Souls he had obtained was temporarily deducted by the system. Upon investigation, Atreus discovered that the system considered this portion of the soul to have returned to the body.

Goodness, if I use this portion of the soul, will my Red Soul count become negative?

Isn’t this like exploiting a bug in a mobile game to steal furniture parts, only for the developers to catch on and force me to repay the debt in parts before I can buy new furniture?

After some research, Atreus discovered that while the Red Souls were returned, they weren't completely given back.

Because the "God-Slayer System" was quite domineering, the Red Souls Atreus had taken were now labeled as his property. That part of the soul was clearly marked as [Owned by Host Atreus]!

"So, I am the master of your soul?" Atreus said this to the kneeling Kryptonian soldier.

"You lowly Earthling! You're not even worthy of being a slave to a Kryptonian%@$#" The guy spewed a string of crude Kryptonian slang that Atreus's system didn't even bother to translate.

Atreus was exasperated.

Historically, Kryptonians had been incredibly powerful, controlling vast territories with outposts covering half the universe.

No one would naively believe that they had peacefully developed barren planets to claim such a large domain, right?

Especially since General Zod belonged to the Kryptonian supremacist faction.

Despite controlling this guy's soul, Atreus had no intention of subjugating him. With a wave of his hand, he turned him into a true Red Soul.

Good!

If the soul must be temporarily returned, what about the skills acquired?

Atreus decided to test Faora-Ul as his second subject.

With some experience now, Atreus knew that reviving a Kryptonian was a bit like taking a sunbath—the more skin exposed to the sun, the faster the revival. So, under the scorching sun of the Sahara Desert, Atreus set up a double sunshade and, surrounded by beautiful women, began his boring wait.

In fact, when Atreus noticed that Faora revived more slowly than the first Kryptonian, he realized something.

Skills stolen through "God-Slaying" shouldn't be returned.

When Atreus saw Faora revive, he immediately ordered the system to perform "Soul Binding," restraining her. Then he removed his arm guards and had Penthesilea quickly carve identical blood marks on both his arms.

One arm was exposed to the sunlight, while the other remained in the shade under the umbrella.

It was obvious—although both wounds visibly healed quickly, the one in the sunlight healed twice as fast.

"This is..." The Amazon Queen looked at Atreus with surprise.

Atreus leaned in and whispered, "This is a power seed given to me by your niece. With it, I can steal part of the enemy's abilities."

"A remarkable power."

The queen, who had been eager to see if she could obtain this power from Diana, immediately changed her mind after Atreus's next words.

"Even if it means being shunned by the Greek gods?"

This reminded her of the miserable days when she was hunted by the Furies.

"I... I’ve been through that, so I’ll pass."

The two exchanged such an intimate conversation, blatantly ignoring the still-kneeling Faora-Ul.

Enraged, Faora screamed, "Damn Earthlings! What did you do to me? Where is the General? What about our Kryptonian revival!?"

Her yelling irritated the queen greatly.

"Ha! You Kryptonian girl, it seems you don’t understand your status and position! Regardless of race or era, invaders who forcibly enter someone else’s home, attempting to kill host and take over everything, don’t deserve even a shred of mercy or compassion."

The queen stepped forward proudly. With just a glance from her, Atreus understood.

The next moment, Faora-Ul felt all her strength return.

"Weak Earthlings, dare you call yourselves victors!?" Like a bullet, she accelerated from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in less than a second.

Her terrifying acceleration shocked the Canary Sisters behind Atreus.

But the next second, her fate matched her rage.

A long, tanned leg came crashing down at an even faster speed, pinning Faora to the ground.

The once-mighty first officer under General Zod was now being completely dominated by Penthesilea.

"Disobedient alien, let me teach you what Earth's rules are!"

What followed was a merciless, brutal beating.

As a demigod and an Amazon Queen who once fought Achilles head-on, Penthesilea’s combat power was overwhelming.

For the first time, Faora realized that the sun's infinite restorative power could become a dreadful curse.

She... had become the perfect punching bag.
