*Chapter 144: Submission of Faora (1st Update)*

Selina stood nearby, utterly stunned: Where’s all that talk of iron will and never surrendering? Why did you give in just by putting on a collar? Is this thing enchanted or under a spell? You’re seriously letting that bastard Atreus fool you this easily?

You, a Kryptonian woman, took a brutal beating for hours—what was the point of that?

Alright, fine! If I were beaten that badly, I’d surrender too.

Physical submission doesn’t mean mental submission!

Whenever Catwoman now saw Atreus, the only thing left tough on her was her mouth—at least she had one part of herself still standing tall.

Seeing Faora like this made Selina genuinely frustrated by her lack of resistance.

After Atreus got over his initial shock, Faora’s explanation led to a sudden realization.

Isn’t there a similar group on Earth? Ruthless to everyone, but once they get beaten into submission, they immediately turn around, call you "daddy," and give you whatever you want.

Maybe this is what they call admiration for strength!

That’s right, they are just living their own comfortable little lives...

Ahem!

Atreus focused his gaze on Faora, carefully examining this lieutenant of General Zod.

Alright, excellent appearance, exceptional figure.

She’s definitely qualified to be one of my ship’s crew.

But I’ll need to observe her for a while.

Now that Atreus was the master, many things became less complicated—he could just ask her directly.

What he learned shocked him.

Earthlings have no idea what kind of person a child will become when they’re born. They raise them with care, but what talents they inherit from their parents, or if their genes mutate—that’s up to fate.

Having children for humans is like opening a black box.

Kryptonian reproduction, on the other hand, could be described as either highly efficient or utterly absurd.

They use a place called the "Genesis Chamber" to mass-produce newborns. It’s like an artificial womb but on a huge scale.

Kryptonian babies hang from the branches of the Genesis Chamber like fruit.

Not only do they use the "Codex" to categorize the DNA of the children, but they also program their identities and talents. For example, if someone is designated to be a gardener, then from birth until death, their talent and fate will be to be a gardener.

As a professional warrior, Faora’s entire mind is shackled by the belief in defending Krypton.

Zod took her with him to show her that only by fighting to retrieve the Codex could they revive Krypton.

The benefit of the Kryptonians' approach is that it perfectly meets the needs of their species, avoiding conflict among various industries within their race. It also makes it easier for rulers to maintain authority and internal stability.

The downside is that it kills off a lot of potential, making society incredibly rigid. It was the complete stagnation of the ruling class’s thinking, combined with the people being bound by the Codex, leading to blind obedience, that ultimately caused Krypton’s downfall.

After Faora submitted, she had to find a logical way to justify her actions, or she’d go insane. In ancient Kryptonian society, those who couldn’t complete their tasks were discarded.

Understanding the Kryptonian mindset, Atreus suddenly had a wicked idea.

“Rebuilding the ‘Genesis Chamber’ is impossible now. How about trying a more... primitive method?”

“What method?” Faora genuinely didn’t understand.

After Atreus brought her back to his villa, he led her through a forbidden door called the "Red District."

That day, for the first time since her creation, Faora experienced a worldview-shattering revelation.

“Earthlings reproduce in such an inefficient way?!”

“Inefficient? Earth has 8 billion people. How many Kryptonians are left now?”

Faora reluctantly answered, “Two.”

“For the future of Krypton, would you consider trying it with Kal—”

“No! Absolutely not! I hate him! I’d rather die a billion times than—” Faora screamed in the strongest possible protest.

As expected, when Kryptonians can't reconcile their logic, they erupt with immense resistance and internal conflict.

Atreus, with a straight face, said, “Then to revive Krypton, it seems we’ll have to inject even greater power into your ‘Genesis Chamber.’”

Faora was struck as if by lightning.

It seemed... that he had a point.

When the evil demigod from Olympus pulled out a 20 cm long blade, the brave Kryptonian lieutenant screamed and charged forward.

Even though she knew she couldn’t win, and the outcome would be the same as all her previous battles, Faora, for the sake of Krypton, charged in without hesitation.

The battle was brutal!

White blade in, red blade out!

Red blade in, red blade out × 2333!

The brave warrior fell.

Let her lie under the sun for a bit.

White blade in, red blade out!

Red blade in, red blade out!

...

Sunbathing...

White blade...

Three days later, Penthesilea jumped directly from the first floor to the third-floor window of Atreus’s study without a care.

Behind the desk, Atreus frowned: “How many times have I told you to use the front door?”

“I do what I want.” The queen raised an eyebrow, proudly standing with her hands on her hips, surveying the surroundings as if inspecting her domain. “Where’s your little Kryptonian maid?”

She had barely finished asking when she saw four legs sticking out from under the desk.

With a tug, she revealed a face filled with a mixture of sorrow, despair, helplessness, and a faint hint of fanaticism and joy.

Faora screamed, “Just kill me already!”

The queen burst into laughter, dropping the foaming Kryptonian and striding away.

Three days later, Tony visited Atreus.

Tony had to admit, every time he visited Atreus’s house, he got a shock. This time, he came to check on things after the Kryptonian invasion, but as soon as he walked in, he saw Faora still wearing a Kryptonian oxygen mask.

Even though she was wearing a classic black-and-white lace maid outfit below the neck, the egg-shaped helmet encasing her head was too eye-catching!

“Wait a second! Is she... she... could she be...” Tony’s right index finger trembled as he pointed at her, barely able to speak.

“Hello! Mr. Stark. I’m Faora-Ul, Kryptonian maid of Master Atreus and former lieutenant of General Zod.” Faora curtsied in a slightly awkward but almost standard European style.

Tony felt like he’d been struck by lightning.

He glanced at the veiled beauty Helen next to him, then back at the meek, subservient Faora, and suddenly understood: “Atreus, you bastard! You never leave empty-handed wherever you go, do you?”

The thief never walks away empty-handed... wait, no.

Atreus replied righteously, “I saved Earth, fought off the evil alien invaders, and picked up some spoils along the way—what’s wrong with that?”

“Nothing wrong! Nothing wrong at all...”

It made sense, but Tony couldn’t help but feel a little envious, jealous, and resentful.

Compared to Atreus’s achievements, Tony didn’t even want to mention his own victories.
