Chapter 160: Loki: "I'm Just Here to Die" (First Update)

The massive punch created a sonic boom, but it did absolutely nothing.
The swirling dust signaled Algrim’s helpless rage. Smoke but no damage!
This brief clash left Miss Jane watching in awe from a distance, murmuring, "The bodyguard Atreus Wayne found for me is this strong?"
Algrim let out a painful howl as blood, bright and molten like lava, gushed from his thick arm. The blood splattered across the barren ground, sizzling and leaving fist-sized holes in its wake.
Surprisingly, his left arm twitched violently, and he was able to manipulate the remaining muscles in his upper arm to contract wildly. The red liquid pouring from his wound solidified like cooled magma, sealing the wound. Black veins bulged ominously across his muscles.
At this moment, Loki saw his chance to strike. Spotting a vulnerability, he targeted the cursed warrior, who had just lost his right arm, assuming his right side was now defenseless.
Unfortunately, as Loki thrust his short dagger, Algrim suddenly and unexpectedly used a shoulder charge.
Loki's dagger did pierce, but only about five centimeters deep—nowhere near enough to penetrate the cursed warrior’s thick muscles beneath his ribs.
Then, like a battering ram, Algrim’s severed arm slammed into Loki’s smug, mischievous face.
"Ah!" Loki screamed as blood sprayed from his nose and mouth, sending him flying backward.
"Loki!" Thor had just returned and tried to catch him with his left hand, but he was a fraction too slow. Loki slammed into a massive rock, leaving a dramatic, person-shaped impact.
Thor’s cheek twitched. A seasoned warrior, he immediately realized the cursed warrior’s weakness—strength, resilience, and even resistances were all incredibly high, and blunt weapons seemed to do little against him. However, when it came to sharp weapons, his defense wasn’t nearly as strong.
Despite Thor being the overall strongest, it was Atreus who was dishing out the most damage.
“You take the lead!” Thor shouted. Atreus instantly knew how to coordinate.
“What an honor! The God of Thunder himself assisting me!”
Thor wasn’t bothered: “For the sake of defeating a common enemy.”
He glanced to the side, where a fierce woman in black armor was keeping Malekith busy. She shifted her weight, body leaning forward, ready to strike like a panther about to pounce.
The next moment, she charged at Malekith again.
She failed.
She couldn’t break through the protective barrier of the Aether particles, but at least Malekith was too occupied to focus on the main battle.
Thor silently praised her: well done.
When he refocused on the more imposing cursed warrior, he began preparing his big attack.
*Thunder God’s Wrath!*
Though the night sky was clear with few clouds, Thor still gathered enough electrical energy from a ten-kilometer radius to make Mjolnir’s blow devastating.
The raging thunder instantly obliterated half the surrounding plains. Everything within hundreds of meters screamed and crumbled under the assault of crackling lightning, which surged farther in unpredictable directions. The once flat ground now looked like smashed dough, broken and torn apart as if hit by a localized 10.0 magnitude earthquake.
But shockingly, this dramatic display was just a setup for the real attack—can you believe it?
Half of Algrim's heavy armor and horned helmet had been blown to pieces, yet the flames and heat radiating from his body had absorbed most of the thunder's impact. His body was charred, but considering his extremely long health bar, it wasn’t much.
Thor originally thought Atreus would wait for the lightning to subside before charging in. To his surprise, Atreus’s lightning resistance was also absurdly high.
The way the electricity bounced off him made it clear—Atreus had just as much control over lightning, or perhaps wind elements, as any self-proclaimed lightning master in Asgard.
He almost flew across the ground, his body parallel to the earth.
Thor frowned slightly. To him, Atreus’s low, sweeping sword technique seemed odd, maybe even dirty, but it was effective!
Atreus once again targeted the cursed warrior’s poorly defended right side. This time, his goal was the right leg.
With a fierce slash from behind, Atreus struck Algrim’s knee. Golden energy clashed with the lava-like aura surrounding the cursed warrior, sending sparks flying. Algrim roared in pain, but he didn’t fall. The sword had cut halfway through and got stuck.
Just when Thor thought Atreus might have to abandon his sword and retreat, Atreus let out a battle cry and slammed the back of his left-hand sword onto the back of his right-hand blade.
CLANG!
A massive hum reverberated!
It was like hitting a cleaver with a hammer—what couldn’t be sliced was forced apart.
“AAAAH—” Algrim howled in despair as his right leg was severed at the knee. The mighty cursed warrior was finally brought down.
No matter how long his health bar was, he needed all four limbs!
Now reduced to a stump, Algrim was nothing more than a punching bag, no matter how much health he had left.
Thor was overjoyed and was just about to finish him off when he saw his foolish brother, Loki, rushing in for the final blow.
“No—”
Thor’s warning died on his lips.
Loki, sensing the cursed warrior’s vulnerability to sharp weapons, took advantage of Algrim’s one remaining arm and leg, delivering a textbook backstab.
The sword pierced straight through Algrim’s chest.
If Loki had followed Kratos’s example and retreated after landing the hit, everything would have been fine.
But Loki’s greed got the better of him! Trying to steal the kill, he twisted and wrenched the blade, attempting to destroy Algrim’s heart completely.
For most enemies, this would’ve been a fatal blow.
But the cursed warrior's vitality was beyond anything ordinary, even surpassing most supernatural beings.
Because of that one extra move, Algrim managed to grab Loki and push him onto the blade that was still sticking out of his chest.
In a way, Algrim used Loki’s own sword to kill him.
At that moment, time seemed to freeze.
The joy of victory had just begun to show on Thor’s face, only to turn into sorrow in an instant.
“No—” Thor screamed in rage, rushing toward his brother.
Meanwhile, Atreus looked away, thinking: Loki insists on playing dead to trick his good brother—nothing I can do about that!
Atreus didn’t hesitate. He swung his final strike.
A flash of golden light, and Algrim’s horned head spun into the sky.
