Chapter 5: Chakra and Rock Lee

After dinner, Natsuwari returned to his room and took out the book on chakra extraction to read. Honestly, he had never been so diligent in his studies in his past life.

Natsuwari had a basic understanding of chakra, but he didn't know how to extract it. He had previously wanted Sana to teach him, but unfortunately, Sana said that although she could still use it, she had already returned the relevant knowledge to her former teacher. Moreover, Sana didn't recommend him extracting chakra before the age of six, as it could have some effects on the body.

Natsuwari had also thought about chakra. Chakra was the combination of physical and spiritual energy, and extracting it would inevitably affect the body.

The amount of spiritual energy determined the amount of chakra extracted at once, while physical energy was the chakra reserve. Only after being extracted and combined with spiritual energy could it become usable chakra.

In Natsuwari's view, physical energy was influenced by both physical fitness and bloodline. Physical fitness could be improved through training, but bloodline was basically fixed.

Ordinary people had a low bloodline factor, so they needed a very high level of physical fitness to have enough chakra reserves. However, some bloodlines, such as the Uzumaki bloodline, had a very high factor, so the Uzumaki clan didn't need much physical fitness to have a terrifying amount of chakra reserves.

Moreover, the influence of bloodline wasn't limited to this. It also affected the speed of recovery, but this wasn't a major factor. After all, battles were often decided in a few rounds, and a fast recovery speed didn't have a significant impact on a single battle.

Natsuwari had previously wondered if there were any natural treasures in this world that could increase bloodline factor. After much thought, there didn't seem to be any way. Hashirama's cells? Natsuwari wasn't interested in that half-human, half-ghost state. Instead of transplanting Hashirama's cells, it would be better to scheme for a tailed beast, but that wouldn't align with Natsuwari's goal.

What Natsuwari wanted was to grow to the peak as a human, in human form, even if other forms were stronger. So neither the ghostly appearance after transplantation nor becoming a Jinchuriki fit Natsuwari's goal.

After all, if he ended up looking like that, he might as well follow the two main characters and just ensure he had enough strength not to be sacrificed as cannon fodder.

Anyway, Natsuwari was quite laid-back. If he could become stronger, that was great. If not... then so be it. He would just go with the flow!

After much thought, there didn't seem to be any natural treasures in this world that could increase bloodline factor. There seemed to be a dragon vein, but Natsuwari couldn't remember when it would appear, and it might not even fit his goal.

Natsuwari could only sigh. If only it were a cultivation world, there would always be some strange things that could enhance the most basic attributes. Although those were usually precious, it was better than having no way at all in the Naruto world.

Even though he probably wouldn't get them, at least there would be something to look forward to, unlike here, where he basically had to rely on his own 'mutation.'

But if he were given those things now, he wouldn't be able to resist using them. After all, compared to emotional unwillingness, rationally strengthening oneself was more practical.

But this was only limited to when he was still weak and didn't have the right to be picky.

If he were given those things after he had truly grown up, he would really say no to them. It's just... he didn't know if he could grow up.

After reading for a while and feeling that the food had been digested a bit, Natsuwari closed the book.

"Mom, I'm going out."

"Come back early and be safe."

Sana was used to Natsuwari going out every day. She thought he would stay home for a day after starting school today, but he still insisted on going out to play.

Playing was out of the question. The body was the foundation of chakra capacity. To avoid the risk of chakra shortage after using a few ninjutsu in the future, Natsuwari decided not to slack off.

Natsuwari estimated that although he had been persistently training, the amount was small, so his body was probably only equivalent to those ordinary second-grade students.

However, although the amount of training had been increasing recently, with the intensity unchanged, he felt that his body had improved a lot. It should be due to his age, so the rate of increase in his training amount could probably be adjusted.

Natsuwari pondered. But this rate also needed to be tested. He could tap into his body's potential, but he definitely couldn't overwork it. After all, his body was still that of a six-year-old child. Strength was one aspect, but the energy needed for growth was also necessary. He absolutely couldn't lose sight of the big picture because of small gains.

However, one or two times wouldn't have much impact, so he could use these one or two times to test his limits, and maybe even break through his limits once.

As for the difficulty of breaking through limits, it wasn't too difficult for Natsuwari. He had experimented before. It was probably related to his soul strength. But after breaking through the limit that time, his body felt empty for a few days, which was a typical sign of not being able to handle it. Natsuwari never trained to that extent again.

Now he could try it. Natsuwari quietly came to a relatively secluded training ground. As expected, someone was already there.

And Natsuwari was already very familiar with this person. Basically, the other person was already training when he arrived, and when he finished, the other person was still training.

Yes, that's right. This person was Rock Lee, the hardworking genius. But Natsuwari really felt that Lee's body couldn't handle it. With their training methods, Natsuwari felt that his theoretical upper limit was probably higher.

However, this was based on the condition of unlimited growth. The problem was that human growth was limited. Natsuwari might not be able to reach his theoretical upper limit before the end of his growth period.

So, theory was theory, and reality was reality. At least for now, Natsuwari didn't see the possibility of surpassing the other person in physique, nor did he have the intention to. After all, he had always seen the other person's efforts.

"Oh, Natsuwari, you're half an hour late today. You have to do a few more sets of training!" Rock Lee's eyes lit up when he saw Natsuwari. Although he was used to training alone, he would be happier if he had a partner.

"Okay." Natsuwari just happened to decide to try breaking through his limit today. A few more sets might not be enough.

Natsuwari's answer stunned Rock Lee for a moment. He wouldn't agree to extra training before. Then, Rock Lee's eyes seemed to ignite with flames.

"Oh~~~ Natsuwari, you actually agreed! We're going to burn it up! This is youth! I've decided to reward myself with a few more sets today!"

Natsuwari was a little embarrassed. Even though he had seen it many times before, he still felt that the other person was a bit exaggerated.

Well then, let's start today's training. Natsuwari walked to the other side of Rock Lee. Although they were in the same place, Natsuwari and Rock Lee's training methods were different.

After all, Natsuwari believed his body was still growing, so he wouldn't do any high-intensity training. He usually only did some low-intensity training and then used time to accumulate the amount.

Time passed by, and even though the intensity wasn't high, Natsuwari was already panting. But he hadn't reached his goal for this session yet. His body was almost at its current limit, but his spirit was still okay. He felt like he could forcibly persevere.

Rock Lee, watching from the side, wanted to cry. It was truly, truly burning!

In Rock Lee's eyes, Natsuwari's movements suddenly became smooth again. Rock Lee said he was very familiar with this. It often happened to him because this was youth!

This time, Rock Lee really shed tears of emotion.

"Phew, I finally did it." Natsuwari said that his limit seemed to be even higher than he had imagined. Actually, it wasn't a real limit, just the upper limit his body could currently endure.

Afterward, Natsuwari trained for a while longer, said goodbye to Rock Lee, and left with heavy steps. Although his body was tired, his spirit was still good. He would go back and read some more, trying to learn how to extract chakra as soon as possible.

The next day, Natsuwari miraculously felt okay. So had his body improved that much? Then Natsuwari tried to break through his limit again.

Then, on the third day, Natsuwari broke down. The constant fatigue in his body made him only able to do some basic training. It seemed that although he could break through, he couldn't do it continuously. This interval was what Natsuwari needed to grasp.

Natsuwari couldn't help but sigh. Body training and chakra accumulation were a long road ahead!
