Chapter 177: Piercing

Kryptonians hate kryptonite, truly hate it to the extreme.
Now it seems, Kryptonians aren’t the real dogs—Atreus is the real dogman here.
A special weapon for Kryptonians, right? Not one, not two, but three of them!
As Faora sighed silently, her figure melted into the darkness. There was nothing left for her to do here for the time being.
Kryptonians can’t handle kryptonite; even just being near it is unbearable, let alone touching it, as all their cells rapidly decay and deteriorate.
What Faora didn’t know was that Tony, watching from the sky, winced, a look of awkwardness hidden behind Iron Man’s mask.
Batman and Iron Man are basically cut from the same cloth when it comes to targeting strategies.
If Batman has something, Tony Stark is not going to be without it.
A glowing green piece of kryptonite was stashed inside the hidden compartment in Iron Man's right arm. With just one command from Tony, it would spring out, transforming into a pile driver, hammering kryptonite into a Kryptonian’s face.
Tony, of course, knew Iron Man's strength. With Atreus taking the lead, he was more of a backup player.
And here they go, the trio charging forward.
The scene was very Greek in style! A queen with reins in her left hand and a spear in her right, Kratos with a sword in his left and a spear in his right, and Wonder Woman with a shield in her left hand and a spear in her right. This trio’s combination made the two high-tech heroes on the sidelines feel a sudden sense of shame. They, who prided themselves on using technology to defeat enemies across the universe, now faced a scene that screamed, "Sir, the times have gone back!"—and that absurd feeling hit them hard.
But what could they do? If it were anyone else, they would have quietly started designing an anti-Kratos suit by now.
One was Atreus's wild dad, and the other was Atreus's buddy.
They had calculated everything well.
The American higher-ups were in an awkward position.
The relationship between the two sides was like that between a talented (showing off) female streamer and the top-ranked old man.
Yes, Atreus was that top-ranked old man.
The American higher-ups might have hoped for alternatives, but sometimes, the more you try to diversify your bets, the more the new baskets seem to tip over.
From Osborn Industries, to Hammer Industries, to the latest LexCorp... No matter how they switched it up, Wayne Enterprises and Stark Industries remained the most reliable.
Whether it was S.H.I.E.L.D. or the White House, they both wanted to cultivate their own loyal forces.
Unfortunately, even those considered the most loyal, like *War Machine* and Captain America, seemed out of place on such a ridiculous battlefield.
Originally, Superman was the easiest to control.
But after just being hit with a nuclear bomb, Superman was still floating in Earth's orbit. If someone managed to use a telescope to spot his "corpse" floating kilometers away from the blast zone, they'd see that Superman was looking quite miserable.
Of course, as a Kryptonian, all he needed was some sunlight to fully recover.
Knowing full well that Superman charging with a kryptonite spear was like a suicide bomber, Atreus didn’t wait for him. The Greek trio's charge, with one crack of the whip, launched the chariot into a sonic boom.
"Roar!"
Doomsday's eyes and nose erupted with exaggerated crimson beams.
"Whoosh—"
With a wild humming, the thick laser beams swept across, first slicing a ruined skyscraper in two like cutting butter, then chasing after the dodging *Tragedy of Troy*.
In the eyes of the crowd, when the laser struck the side of the chariot where the Greek trio stood, countless people held their breath for Kratos and the others.
"Hmph!" With a soft snort, Wonder Woman crossed her arms in front of her chest. From the *Bracelets of Submission* shone a dazzling holy light, the protective area of which even surpassed her shield.
The next moment, the chariot shook violently as one side of its body shot out intense golden light, merging with the glow of the bracelets.
The distinct forces clashed in midair, and the result was a bright explosion of light in the night sky, as brilliant as fireworks.
Amid the chaotic energy turbulence, the warhorse's cry remained loud and intimidating.
When the golden chariot charged once again, S.H.I.E.L.D. confirmed that the combined shield from the chariot and Wonder Woman had indeed withstood Doomsday's laser beams.
To make matters worse, another beam was coming.
The monster’s lasers were relentless.
"This can't go on! They're too passive!" Tony panicked. Taking a huge risk, he sped forward from a different angle and fired a few pen missiles at the monster.
He knew these missiles couldn’t hurt the beast, but as long as he could slightly divert its attention, he would have succeeded.
Interestingly, Batman had the same idea.
Together with him was the Batwing.
The large-caliber cannons and pen missiles did indeed enrage Doomsday. The monster, driven by battle instinct, abandoned its pursuit of the far more dangerous Greek trio and turned its laser beams toward the two mortal heroes.
Seeing his wild dad being this brave, Atreus was genuinely touched.
If he were in Batman’s shoes with that physical strength and equipment, Atreus definitely wouldn’t have dared to provoke Doomsday.
Sure enough, Batman’s piloting of the Batwing wasn’t quite on point when it came to avoiding the lasers—the Batwing exploded on the spot.
Gone in a flash!?
Not quite. Atreus noticed the ejection system activated.
Batman shot a grappling hook onto a nearby ruined building and swung away.
Since his wild dad hadn’t died, Atreus naturally wouldn’t waste the efforts of these two mortal heroes. Taking advantage of the monster's shifted attention, he launched an all-out attack.
The first to strike was Penthesilea. Using the speed of the chariot, she swung her spear like a battle axe, delivering a diagonal slash across the monster’s thick, bone-spiked back.
A skin that had survived a nuclear blast was sliced open like cake by her blade.
A terrifying wound, half a meter deep, was exposed!
"Roar!" Doomsday let out a thunderous scream, instinctively turning its head toward the damn chariot.
And this was just the beginning!
As the chariot passed by, Atreus smoothly separated from it.
The chariot went to the right; he dropped silently to the left.
It was as if he had calculated the monster's every move. As it turned from the pain, to the onlookers, it seemed to stupidly offer its bloody back right to Kratos.
A green light extended from Atreus’s ancient spear, piercing Doomsday completely in an instant.
