Chapter 190: Share the Story You Just Made Up (First Update)

"We found it. There's a thick spatial barrier between Paradise Island and the main world. You can think of it like a black hole separating the routes between stars."

When Atreus announced this to the group of women, their reactions were quite dramatic.

The two Amazonian women were, unsurprisingly, thrilled. Their homeland was their greatest attachment, and being able to return and see their family was more important than anything. Diana had left home while it was under siege by the god of war, Ares. If it weren't for knowing that time flowed differently between the two worlds, she would've been worried sick by now.

Although Faora had grown accustomed to her life of "servitude and punishment," the opportunity to prove her combat abilities made her a little excited.

The ones with the most mixed feelings were the Canary sisters, Gwen, and Catwoman.

Dinah couldn't bring herself to ask Atreus to abandon the two Amazons, who were incredibly powerful in battle. After holding back for a while, with her sister's encouragement, she finally said, "Atreus, are you confident you can handle Ares?"

Atreus paused, wanting to nod but instead shook his head. "He's still Ares, a true god."

Wonder Woman felt a bit awkward. She had given Atreus the seed of power that helped him grow to this point, so she certainly deserved some credit.

In life, no one ever has just one identity.

Atreus was her battle partner, but he was also the lover of the Canary sisters and the others.

For the first time, Wonder Woman felt like she had let her sisters down.

With a sigh, she said, "We are God Slayers, with the most targeted power left by Zeus. I believe we will succeed."

Her statement didn't gain much approval from the other four women.

Canary sisters remained silent, Gwen crossed her arms and turned her head away, while Catwoman scoffed and said bluntly, "Hmph! If you die there, better for me. I can just seduce your father."

That’s just how Catwoman was—her words were always sharp.

Suddenly, Canary sisters moved in unison and grabbed Catwoman, Selina. "Heh! Looks like this bad kitty never learns her lesson. Tonight, let’s make sure Atreus reminds you."

A night of madness ensued.

By morning, Catwoman turned her head, her eyes shining faintly. "Atreus, you jerk. If you're not back in three months, I'll assume you're dead."

"Yes, yes, even if I die, I'll make sure to die back here." Atreus said his goodbyes to them one by one.

This time, he would only take the two Amazons and Faora with him.

The others would only be a burden.

A portal emitting a beautiful blue glow opened in the center of the basement. Atreus stepped forward first, followed by Wonder Woman and Penthesilea, and finally Faora.

However, just as Faora was about to step through, an unexpected event occurred.

Duang!

A sudden, immense force pushed Faora back.

Atreus froze.

He never would’ve imagined this.

"Atreus!?" several women cried out at once.

"No! Wait! This is..." Atreus’s face drained of color. His eyes widened as he spoke an answer even he found unbelievable: "The world of Paradise Island is rejecting Faora!"

This wasn’t a mistake!

No matter how hard Faora tried to charge through, a stronger force repelled her each time.

She was thrown back, slamming into the basement wall and leaving a human-shaped mark.

In her place, a powerful suction pulled Helen, who was wearing a maid's outfit and standing nearby, through the portal.

"Ahhh—"

Without thinking, Atreus caught Helen in a princess carry.

Before they could react, the portal abruptly closed, and the four of them were transformed into streams of blue light, traveling across time and space.

"Ahhh—" Helen screamed as she looked in horror at herself and Atreus, their heads stretching like long noodles. The surrounding light and shadows distorted and elongated, and she found she couldn’t even hear her own screams.

Helpless, she instinctively clung to the man who had once saved her from the world of Troy.

Time lost meaning. It might have been a minute, or it might have been an eternity.

Lost in the chaos of her senses, Helen couldn't grasp how much time had passed.

She vaguely sensed that countless clocks in the void were turning counterclockwise, as the world around her seemed to rewind, faster and faster.

What Helen never expected was that the next thing she would perceive would be a 203mm artillery shell.

Boom!

The massive shell exploded right above Helen’s head.

She thought she was done for.

But Wonder Woman raised her Aegis Shield, and with a flawless counter, she deflected the shell, sending it fifty meters away, where it exploded in the shallow sea, shooting a towering column of water into the air.

Helen was dumbfounded.

"You okay?" Atreus asked as he checked on her.

"I-I'm not dead," she stammered.

What else could she say?

Although Atreus had used the Red Soul to strengthen her body, he found that he could only increase her physical durability three times that of an average woman. Everything else remained the same—she was still just a regular person.

Helen looked around with Atreus, and they were shocked to see that a strange battle was taking place.

They were on a beach, and in the distance, black smoke rose from the ocean, coming from the chimneys of steel warships.

It wasn’t surprising that shells were streaking through the air toward the beach and the cliffs beyond.

What surprised Atreus was that the defenders weren’t just taking a beating—they were launching back huge crossbow bolts, at least two meters long and as thick as a man’s arm, toward the ships.

Normally, facing modern artillery with crossbows would be laughable.

But, as it turned out, the end of science might just be theology.

The massive bolts were imbued with divine light, and with divine power enhancing them, they flew over ten thousand meters and struck the distant ships, causing massive explosions.

The explosion at the front of a cruiser was visible from ten kilometers away, with flames and smoke billowing into the sky.

"What’s going on?" Atreus was confused. "Did we come to the wrong place?"

"No! We're in the right place!" Diana shouted joyfully. "We're just in time!"

But while they were overjoyed, the Amazon queen, Hippolyta, was even more shocked.

"What? Diana’s back? And she brought a man, along with my sister, Penthesilea? And a Greek woman I don’t recognize?" Hearing her scout’s report, Hippolyta was utterly bewildered.

If Atreus were to experience that feeling, it would probably be like…
