Chapter 192: The Broken World Map (Third Update)

The arrow returned even faster than when it was shot, surpassing the limits of the female warrior's archery speed and striking back fiercely.
Thud—
The arrow grazed past the female warrior's left temple, missing by no more than a centimeter, before burying itself into the mountainside behind her.
In the next instant, a dense spiderweb of cracks, a meter in diameter, spread from the point of impact.
Silence!
Stillness!
So quiet!
Every female warrior’s eyes were filled with disbelief.
After a brief moment of shock, they erupted in a deafening cheer.
"Woohoo!"
"Big guy, I want to have your babies!"
"Pick me! Pick me—"
Sure, the girls in Gotham's nightclubs might flaunt their beauty, but they had some decency. These Amazon warriors, however, were passionate and unrestrained, freely displaying their beautiful bodies like the yacht parties at New York Harbor.
Faced with a group of she-wolves closing in, Atreus felt a toothache coming on.
Diana giggled next to him. "Don't worry, they're just saying that."
"Hmm?"
"You've already shown your strength. Any female warrior without the title of champion has no right to bother you."
"Wait! Why are over a hundred women still coming toward me?" Atreus was getting nervous.
"They're all champion fighters!"
Suddenly, Atreus understood. Paradise Island had existed for many years. Even if there had been only one tournament per year, these god-descended women, with their long lifespans, had accumulated quite a few strong female warriors.
He got it now!
A man's energy is limited.
But the number of women is unlimited.
With limited energy against unlimited women, he was bound to lose.
Atreus once thought being an emperor would be amazing, but now that he had experienced it, he realized that even with just a few women, he'd have to start managing his time carefully.
Forget about a harem of 3,000—just a three-digit number...
Uh...
He wouldn't be able to do anything else.
With a smirk, Atreus released a faint aura of elemental power, a blend of wind and fire. This energy wasn’t necessarily lethal.
But it could instantly turn into a deadly battlefield.
This semi-circular energy field acted like a curtain, preventing any Amazon warrior without enough strength from getting too close.
Breaking through this barrier wasn’t easy.
A fearless warrior extended her finger to touch the light curtain, only for her nail to char black.
In contrast, a few warriors, who exuded an intimidating aura, strode confidently forward.
The seemingly unstable wind and fire elements parted like frightened animals just five centimeters from their bodies.
It looked as though they were walking through a harmless curtain of water, with ease and grace.
This scene did not go unnoticed by the leaders, the Penthesilea sisters.
"Oh, dear sister, doesn’t this remind you of the time you first met Heracles?" Penthesilea teased.
"Sister, stop joking. I'm beyond that age." Hippolyta replied, vaguely. As an elder, she didn’t involve herself, but she was quite pleased with the man her daughter had brought to help. She didn’t mind if her warriors approached him.
Although Amazon society was matriarchal, it was an honor for the strongest female warriors to bear even stronger daughters with powerful men, a form of legacy.
Her daughter, Diana, born from Zeus, was the best example.
Amazons revered strength, and Atreus had demonstrated enough to earn a place of honor.
Passionate Greek music played, accompanied by the wild sword dance of the Amazons, making the banquet quite exciting.
Atreus had no doubt that if he nodded, the party might even turn into something much more intense—and he would be the center of attention.
Atreus... searched around for something like a wooden fish, hoping to accumulate some virtue.
In this world, he carried the wild blood of the Wayne family.
He didn’t resist or fear it, but he understood the importance of prioritizing things. He wouldn’t goof around while enemies were at the gates.
Once the royal sisters had caught up, Hippolyta personally poured a goblet of golden wine and approached him.
"Thank you! You, the great hero who killed Achilles—Kratos. No, I should call you Atreus. You saved my sister from the curse of fate and brought her safely back to me. On behalf of all the Amazons of Paradise Island, I thank you!"
"This was also the choice of *Fate*." Atreus knew humility didn’t work with Amazons. He calmly accepted Hippolyta’s gratitude from his seat.
"As thanks, you may choose any low-tier artifact from my treasure vault as a reward." Hippolyta’s bright eyes gleamed as she added, "And of course, you have the right to take any Amazon warrior from the island, aside from myself."
Huh?
That’s quite a generous offer.
Atreus's mischievous side kicked in, and he teased, "Including Diana?"
Hearing this, Wonder Woman’s face flushed crimson. She wanted to punch Atreus, but was too shy to do it in public.
The Queen of Paradise Island was momentarily stunned but then gently replied, "You know what mission she carries."
"I know."
"If she completes her mission, then my answer remains yes—including Diana!"
That was quite a bold statement.
Whatever others felt, Atreus didn’t know, but with the queen’s approval, he no longer feared losing Diana.
You show me respect, I’ll return the favor.
With such generosity, Atreus was satisfied. He raised his hand, signaling for Helen to refill his goblet. "I toast you, Your Majesty. Your generosity illuminates the Aegean Sea."
This was undoubtedly high praise.
Especially coming from the hero who killed Achilles.
The atmosphere immediately heated up, with the surrounding Amazon warriors cheering wildly, shouting all kinds of Amazonian slang that Atreus couldn’t understand, probably expressing their excitement.
"In the name of the gods—let’s join forces to defeat Ares!" Hippolyta smashed her cup, grabbed Atreus’s wrist, and raised it high.
"Defeat Ares!" Atreus shouted in agreement.
The banquet reached its climax.
Wine, music, and wild dancing lasted until dawn.
The next day at noon, Atreus was awakened by the booming cannons of a battleship.
He noticed Penthesilea beside him and thought: Phew, not bad.
After freshening up, they found Hippolyta.
Atreus got straight to the point. "What’s the situation with Ares now?"
"The siege has lasted for three months. He’s been hiding and hasn’t launched a direct attack on Paradise Island, likely leaving his followers at the fleet's core."
After Hippolyta finished, Diana, who had clearly transitioned into her role since her return, stepped forward. "We believe Ares was badly injured in his last battle with the gods. He needs *war* to strengthen himself. When he’s gathered enough power, it will be the end of Paradise Island."
"*War*? I’m very familiar with World War I."
"Oh?" Diana gave him a mysterious smile and unfolded the latest world map.
Atreus was dumbfounded.
There was once a classic question: Why did World War II last longer than World War I?
Answer: Because the Axis powers were more aggressive!
In his mind, both world wars were led by Germany.
But on this map, what was this *Greek Empire* spanning Europe and Asia?
