The hate AEW gets, especially lately, is bad faith. Now with this new creative direction, they get better and better but I can make a sound prediction that viewers won't increase no matter how much better AEW is.

The value of pro wrestling continues to climb, which will certainly benefit talent and production values for the audience. Sadly, I think because of the increasingly bitter tribalism, wrestling fans will complain more than celebrate.

2024-10-03 16:29:08 +0000 UTCIm happy if dark is coming back, yeah they have ROH but dark being on youtube was different. It was rarely ever about storylines it was strictly wrestling (squash matches at that), but you got to see prospective talents before they made it big. People like Will Hobbs, Willow nightingale, the Aclaimed, scorpio sky, Wheeler Yuta, top flight, julia heart & varisty blondes, Nick Commoroto, 2point0, lee moriarty, Dark Order, Takeshita all got their footing on dark. It was also a place to see special features who might have not been big enough for TV but are incredible like Blake Cristian. Dark originally was made to just film the matches pre and post dynamite (the ones usually only the crowd sees) so it wasnt its own dedicated program, later on it became that when they filmed at universal studios. If they just do like a 2/3 match dark episodes i think that would be good enough

2024-10-03 15:03:55 +0000 UTCA really interesting chat, just a point on who benefitted from AEW Dark, the main one I remember seeing start up and grow on that show was The Acclaimed. I always get a kick out of seeing how far they’ve come now when I think back to them just being a random tag act on the YouTube show. With all that being said though, Dark still definitely doesn’t need to come back when they’re producing 5 hours of TV a week (and that doesn’t even include ROH!)
