2024-11-08 22:32:47 +0000 UTCHaha, I get the frustration with Rachel, but she's not actually being all that unreasonable when it comes to Sebastian in this case. That's just how things were back then. They didn't have babysitters (unless you were ridiculously rich), it was the mom who stayed home and took care of the kids, and if the mom couldn't/there wasn't one, it was another girl/woman in the family old enough to care for infants (an older sibling, aunt, grandmother, etc) while all the boys/men who were old enough worked. the bigger the family, the more it was necessary everyone worked to bring in funds. In cases like Bash's, they did have to just remarry. It wasn't about love, it was about necessity. The unfortunate reality of life back then (kind of like how women in the 1800s would marry for protection/security since they couldn't own land or make money themselves, it wasn't about love it was about making the best of a bad situation). Obviously we love Bash as a character and don't want him to force himself to marry someone he doesn't love just to take care of Delphine, but that was what people did back then if they didn't want to lose their kid. :( (earlier this season there was that dad who dropped off his 2 kids at the orphanage because he was in the same situation as Bash. the mom was no longer in the picture, presumably died, and he couldn't take care of them and work at the same time.) thank goodness there are more options these days 😬It wasn't wrong for Rachel to bring it up (though tbf she could have been gentler about introducing the idea), especially considering Bash has been making use of her help. She's already involved, so it's not her being intrusive to suggest it. But thank goodness Bash found a third, more ideal option anyway! ❤️ most irl were not so lucky.
