Weapon (Longsword), rare (requires attunement by a Cleric or Paladin)
Sacramental Sarcophagus is a weapon wielded by the Gravekeeper of The Serene Soil, an order of clerics and paladins that worship Serena, the goddess of purification and shepherd of the moonless night that guides lost souls to their designated resting place. This equipment granted the wielder the ability to detect undead and fiend's presence and also call upon the spirit of the previous Gravekeepers to help them in a fight. But one of its primary functions is to allow the wielder to perform their sacred funeral rites that will forcefully send undead, fiend, and corrupted spirits into a demiplane that fall under the goddess’s dominion to be purified and guided to their final resting place. It’s said that the demiplane consists of a vast field of tall white grass and a quiet moonless night sky.

When attuned to this item, you’re considered proficient with this weapon and can use the Sarcophagus as a shield. When you’re carrying or holding the Sarcophagus, you can detect the presence of undead or fiends within 30 feet of you, and you can target them with a spell even if they possess an object or creature. This weapon has 3 charges and regains 1d4 expended charges daily at dawn.
Holy Spirit. While holding or carrying the Sarcophagus, you spend 1 charge to cast the Summon Undead spell without expending a spell slot. When you cast it this way, You can only summon the Ghostly or Skeletal form, which comes out from inside the Sarcophagus and occupies unoccupied space within 10 feet of you. In addition, the Undead Spirit attack deals radiant damage instead of necrotic. While they’re within 30 feet of you, you can use your bonus action to give them temporary hit points equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier.
Funeral Rites. While holding the Sarcophagus, you can spend 1 charge to cast the Banishment spell without expending a spell slot targeting fiend or undead within 30 feet of you. On a failed save, the creature is banished into a demiplane inside the Sarcophagus. While you’re concentrating on this spell, you can use your action to perform a purification rite. The creature inside the demiplane has to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell DC or take 3d8 radiant damage on a failed save and half as much on a success. If you reduce the creature's hit point to 0 while inside the demiplane, you regain 1 expended charge.
