Adding to Outfits
Added 2019-01-14 23:46:28 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
The next update was finished a few days ago and is being tested/fixed as I write this. Hopefully it'll be out within a week or so.
Meanwhile, we're adding earring sets to all of the outfits and it got me thinking; some of the clothing outfits could be customized/added to by supporters IF they were interested.
I've had users contact me about changing colors on clothes or altering a hairstyle because they disliked the one on their favorite outfit. We're at a point where a number of outfits have variance to them (randomly assigned patterns/colors) as we've thought of them. But if you want to think of them and have us put them in, please do so!
Now, to be clear, I am not trying to outsource work to anyone. This isn't work that needs to be done, but we thought it might be fun for a few people. It's purely cosmetic, and something you should do only if you enjoy doing so and you'd like to see it come up in the game. There is zero obligation here, and in no way will this impact future updates. Here's how it will work:
If you want to make your own earrings, try to make an equal number of designs for each outfit in a set. For example, if you're making earrings for a casual outfit, you should probably do one for every outfit in your casual category. This is due to some limitation with the code stuff that I can't properly understand. If you do submit an unequal amount then we may have to wait for others to come up with similar unequal amounts so it all evens out.
For format, follow one of these -
In your ears [sits a pair of|sit] ...
In your ears [is a pair of|are] ...
An example of the second half of text would be: "... large [silver|brass|fake gold] hoops that dangle obnoxiously."
If you want to add or edit an already existing outfit, the clothes can only change by color/pattern. Not by style, material or cut. So a yellow sundress can become a red sundress or a white sundress with blue flowers. A striped green blouse could become a leopard-print blouse or a solid black blouse or an orange blouse with green checkmarks. A short skirt can't become long, a top and shorts can't become a dress, etc.
If you're going to alter clothes, send me the text of the original outfit and then the text of what you want. Even if the difference is only one word, please.
Hopefully the above makes sense.
When you've finalized your ideas, email them to me at brickdoorway@gmail.com for editing. I don't mind people posting ideas here, but I'll assume you're doing so to get feedback from other users and I won't be doing anything with them unless they're emailed to me. Sorry, it's just easier for me that way.
Again, this is all purely optional. I know some creators get flak for outsourcing work to supporters or for letting their supporters do the bulk of the developing, and I don't want anyone to feel like this is the case here. We thought it would be a fun way for people to engage or interact, and I can't stress enough that this is meant to be enjoyable and not taken as anything else.
Thanks everyone, and I look forward to posting the next update. It has the entire weekend done and there should be plenty to do.

My apologies if this was mentioned, but I've got at least one idea for the outfits. On the Justine route, she gives you an outfit for the party, makes one supposedly based on options in your wardrobe and then on the first trip to the Sails likewise puts you in another outfit. I think it might actually be good if those remained as options in the wardrobe after those events, specially the party outfit made from the existing stock.
