Bardvember Announcement and Reward Level Changes
Added 2015-11-02 16:44:05 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Just updating you on some changes to the various backer levels and what's going on with special previews this month.
Probably the biggest change is that the cost of being a Budget Backer has increased to $2/month. This is something I've been agonizing over for awhile, but I feel that getting the backer release is worth the extra dollar. Hopefully you'll agree with me. I intend to focus even more and make the added cost worth it for you.
I'm not producing the Player's Guide any longer, and until Harem Collector is completed I'm going to stop working on other projects entirely. Dungeon Assault, Ether Count and the like will still be distributed, but I'm going to do my best to focus on HC and not get distracted.
Instead, I'm going to try to step up my game and produce more content for you, the backers, and really earn your continued support Come hell or high water I will get the livestreaming development up this month. On top of that, every Wednesday, in addition to the normal blog post, I'm going to be posting special backer-only preview content up here. Which brings me to Bardvember!
In celebration of Diadira, the final party member, being implemented for the December release, every week in November I will be releasing a Diadira-themed preview for Basic Backers. This Wednesday, November 4th, will be focused on lore: a basic introduction to Diadira and the state of the music industry in the HC universe. On November 11th I will be posting about the bard mechanics, how Diadira will operate as a party member and what some of her capabilities will be, including her relationship rewards. November 18th will be a special preview of her recruitment quest, how to start it, what to expect, and strategies for completing it. Finally, on November 25th I will distribute a very special gift to Basic Backers- an MP3 of Diadira's first single "Rescue Me", with music by PeaSea and vocals by Addie!
Anyway, please let me know what you think, because your feedback is valuable to me and I want to provide the best service possible. Otherwise, I'll see you on Wednesday!

I'll keep making games as long as it remains feasible. This has been kind of a weird realization. I've detailed these plans something like two years ago, but of course you don't know them because only a handful of Patreon supporters were fans from back in the day when I was only soliciting Paypal donations. And of course nobody is going to go through my old blog posts for old, possibly obsolete or forgotten plans, except maybe some of the Wiki admins who like cataloguing these things. Just because I've posted something about HC that's common knowledge for blog followers or forum-goers doesn't mean that every fan of HC knows it. So yeah, keep in mind that because you're supporters I do not mind sharing planned content or spoilers with you, at all. So feel free to drop me a message if there's something you're curious about.

2015-11-04 00:12:28 +0000 UTCIt's far, far too early to have a solid answer to this question. While I have an idea book/series bible that I'm jotting ideas down into, and the broad strokes of the series are planned out, I don't have any of the technical details figured out yet. If I do have any sort of game state carryover, it's unlikely to be a straight-up file transfer. I've been given a script by another fan which would be able to generate a password that could carry over a handful of data. Another option I've considered is doing a brief questionnaire at the beginning, like KotOR II or, if I'm really sneaky, Mass Effect 2. Whether or not I do this at all is going to be a cost/reward decision. The games are intended to be self-contained stories with the same characters reappearing- think the Conan the Barbarian books or the SMT Devil Summoner games. Not all that many decisions made in game will have an impact on future storylines. If there is something significant to be gained by including a data transfer system, I will. If not, I won't.
