While the original map is great, the big landmass on the bottom implies that there is more to be explored off-screen, which means more work for you if you're looking for a rocky little island map for your players to come across while traveling by water.
Your additional version is the Foggy Sea Cliffs, a dangerous spot for passing ships who aren't familiar with the treacherous coastline. This eerie spot is perfect for low-visibility encounters while still keeping the terrain somewhat visible- adding cloudy layers would work really well here, removing them as your players progress and revealing more of the rocky terrain.
