Fantastical Multiverse: Goblin Dilemma
Added 2023-09-06 06:41:14 +0000 UTCFigured I'd show you guys one of the biggest issues with Baldur's Gate Beast/Monster races. This is why I typically started them all starting with basic outfits attached to the body. None of the already made outfits will fit them even if I swap the equipmentrace it doesn't get around the idles being too different. This is them with Halfling, I realized Gnome would be too small and basically clip inside of them. So you'll ask well what is the solution?
The solution is I have to manually modify each armor or make "pajama's" to essentially go over the clothes with Goblin outfits. Which will take time and will be best done after I finish getting some more of the races into the game. Kobold might work with Gnome I have yet to try it with them but I'm worried it's going to clip at the feet too much. So for Kobolds for example I'll likely have to create custom outfits for them so that they can have something to change into as they mostly have helmets instead of actual clothes to change into like Goblins do.

Question regarding goblins-would it be possible to add the body paint options in the future?

2023-09-10 04:23:06 +0000 UTCUnderstandable issue and I wish you the best of luck, I cannot wait for goblins to become even better. That said, I find it hilarious that all of the armors basically make female goblins "tits out" like they just don't give a shit LOL

2023-09-09 14:22:43 +0000 UTCI’m so excited for this! I can’t wait to make my Tortle Wizard in BG3!

2023-09-07 04:01:47 +0000 UTCFor them I was just going to actually use Dragonborn as a base and build on it. Like making the body have a Shell. Some of the Dragonborns faces look kinda turtle like so was just going to use those meshes and modify them. I'm mostly waiting to see what the Official Mod support is going to look like. Before I begin working on the races that are going to be a majority of custom assets. Passives and traits are already done as I did alot of these in Early Access but was using human bodies as placeholders. 😂

2023-09-06 18:57:19 +0000 UTCWill this be a problem for a future *fingers crossed* Tortle in the future? They’re one of my favorites but I imagine getting anything to fit on them will be a nightmare, but for the most part at least Tortles are naked since most clothes and armor don’t fit them anyway.

2023-09-06 17:07:40 +0000 UTCOoof that sounds like WAY too much work... If I were to make one request idea, maybe have some of the goblin clothes and shoes be camp clothes instead, that way you can just make the armor look like anything? Might simplify that down a bit?

2023-09-06 16:53:43 +0000 UTCArmor essentially is just a slot with a preset linked to each race. So you have to modify each piece of armor and add code assigning it specifically to goblins, in addition you must have both masc & femme body types. I might try to squeeze this in for starting gear in 1.1 but just depends.

2023-09-06 16:46:25 +0000 UTCWould it be possible to reuse the goblin armors the NPCs use for each armor type? Ie, the scale and leather for Medium, leather rags for Light, scrap plates for Heavy? Or would that entail tying those models to every single piece of armor manually?

2023-09-06 06:45:33 +0000 UTCYeah probably going to just update the outfit so it's not as bland looking when I originally made a quick fix for them being naked back in Early Access lol.

2023-09-06 06:44:35 +0000 UTCThat's a rough issue and I agree probably best to wait on it. It's unfortunate for anyone wanting goblin to be perfect but just being able to play them in any capacity is impressive.
