Not sure if this will be read, but as someone who has gone through this series many times, and is experienced with writing/worldbuilding/etc myself... I'm endlessly impressed with the detail and emotional complexity of One Piece.
The example I'm gonna give is relevant to what we saw in the first of these episodes.
I was, for a long time, confused about why Shanks gave up his arm for Luffy. Luffy was already motivated to become a great pirate, and would've gotten there eventually on his own. He had great admiration for Shanks, and while he was a bit naive about "manliness", there probably were better ways to teach him that didn't involve losing an arm.
A couple of notes, though...
Shanks taught Luffy what battles are worth picking. He sacrificed his arm to drive this point all the way home.
This is because Shanks saw his old captain reflected in Luffy. His drive, care for his friends, etc, and wanted more than anything to help Luffy overcome what he considered Roger's fatal flaw. In doing so, he gave Luffy the tools to develop a level of emotional maturity that Roger and Ace... and honestly most other people did not have. Luffy doesn't react to insults, doesn't fight for pride or whatever, he fights to protect. He protects his friends and their treasure, whatever it may be. This is what Shanks gave Luffy, and it is something Roger *lacked*.
It is also deeply tragic that this same trait that Roger was so notable for having also resulted in Ace's death, when Ace hated Roger with every fiber of his being.

Kinda wish Leorio would appear out of nowhere and give Garp an uppercut.

I'm sure Makino's lessons are why Luffy will sometimes, out of nowhere, manage to say something polite and proper (usually at a time and situation where it makes no sense to do so).

I have duo statuettes of Ace and Whitebeard’s graves. I couldn’t decide on a good statuette to get at first but a loving tribute to two fantastic characters who impacted their world in such a positive way seemed like the best choice. R.I.P. to two legends and great men.

The Viz translation for the manga also didn't have Jinbe say "Bottle up those feelings". (ch 590)

Can I say a hot take? I think the words used in the English Dub of Jinbe's speech to Luffy is better. I just truly dislike the use of the phrase "Bottle up those feelings." I can't assume the intent of the Japanese words so it may be an issue with how this was translated. Anyways, the quote of his from the dub is;
“Boy! You can’t see a thing. You’re blind! You never doubted your strength, but now, the confidence that once allowed you to soar above the clouds has been shattered. Your brother, who was your guiding light, has faded away, and your enemies stand so tall and cast so great a shadow, that you can do nothing but cower in the darkness. And now, you strike out like an animal at the cage your doubt has placed around you. So long as you are consumed by regret and guilt, you will never find your way forward. Luffy, your pain may be great, but it mustn’t devour you! There is yet joy beyond your sorrows. What’s gone may be gone, but you still have some thing left in this world to treasure, don’t you?!”

And so begin the thousands of memes of Mihawk and his adopted Goth and Jock children.
Also, the fact that Mihawks, of all people, bathroom is a large empty room, only containing a toilet on carpet, is hillarious. It doesn´t even have a sink.

The reaction of the straw hats really shows their loyality to Luffy.

Before this episode I really liked Jinbei, but his words he uttered to save Luffy as he fell to his lowest point cemented him as one of my favourite characters in the series.

Every time I watch these, I don't Cry, but I do feel Luffy's pain, as well as the pain of others in the episodes we've seen so far.

So glad she decided to binge! I've been missing these.
Also, in the dub, Jimbe said something along the lines of "Your pain may be great, but you must NOT let it devour you! Your brother is gone, and you can't bring him back, but you still have something to fight for! DON'T YOU?!"

I love these pain piece episodes. I've watched them dozens of times and I still tear up every time due to how good one piece is in writing and making you feel things. Much love for struggling through 🤎
