Woo! Second chapter of the second book! An auspicious number? Okay, well, perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself by saying that. But all the same, another chapter!!! I hope you enjoy this one too, dear readers; I am having an absolute blast with Maisie's voice, she's already wildly out of control and has firmly ripped the story from my grasp. I hope you enjoy the chapter!
So, as things continue to shape up behind the scenes, now that the girls are on the page and doing the things and rapidly leaving my control, I'm able to offer some tentative predictions about structure - namely, that this arc is likely to be rather long.
How long, exactly? I don't know yet. 15-20 chapters? 60-100k words? I hesitate to put numbers on this, not yet.
I thought this might happen, but I wanted to get a couple of chapters published first and see how things shape up, before I said anything. And this is still tentative, at current. It depends very heavily on Maisie herself (I ... can't stop her, at this point, she's in control now.) She very well may go in a different direction. But it's likely that arcs in Book Two are going to be longer than the average was back in Book One, excluding arc 24 of course, that was an outlier.
Like I said, this isn't confirming anything yet! I'm just peeling back the curtain on a bit of the process, I suppose?
Or ... Maisie's process?
In either case, on with the show! Here we go!

Maisie has learned from the best (Praem), and knows when it's important to keep your towel close to hand. Tea towel! Is that a Britishism? I think it must be. And thank you!!! I'm really enjoying Maisie's voice and POV, and also looking forward to where she goes next. As for the gorm, well, Maisie's not afraid to show it off!

Very very interesting to see you pointing out that she's got a bit of Heather and a bit of Eileen in her; they've both influenced her in different ways, yeah! But she's determined to push beyond the blueprints and be something more, and I think she's doing wonderfully so far. And yes, haha, she's got quite a bite on her.

She and Heather may be twins but despite having a body with built-in Heather qualia and mannerisms from Eyeball Mom Eileen, she's very much her own person and is determined to have her own unique experiences. I just hope Maisie doesn't bite off more then she can chew, but it seems like her fancy doll body has given her quite the voluminous bite!
