Ohhh, we're really getting stuck in now; and so is Maisie. The parts of her that truly matter begin to be revealed? (And I don't mean the fragments of bone inside her body.) The opening arc continues apace, and I am very delighted with where it's all going! I think we're ... maybe halfway? It's very hard for me to tell at this stage, since so much of this is out of my hands, down to Maisie herself, and possibly one or two others close by. Anyway! I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am, dear readers! Here we go!

It is a very beautiful castle, even if Maisie is rather resistant to saying so openly! And yes, the chessboard metaphor is quite intentional. Black and white, like the squares of a board. But what game is being played? And by who? Maisie is hilariously down bad, yes, haha. Hmm, I think Maisie is actually very relatable. Or at least a lot of readers have mentioned that - feeling that Maisie is more relatable on a personal level than Heather was, as a protagonist. I think it makes perfect sense! Briar's workout routine probably involves the nuclear hearts of several stars. Eeee! Alliteration is very fun! Thank you for that!

Maise you are so very down bad. Get a hold of yourself! (No, dont hold *that!*) We are also relating to Maise a great deal, and we do not quite know what to think of that. Ok, even *more* gender envy. Briar-Witch, please tell me your workout routine. Maise, one knife does not a goddess make (or kill). You are not your sister, but your sister's siren call of stewardship gained her allies on her ascent to half step apotheosis, allies which are barred from this battle (alliteration is fun!)
