EXCLUSIVE Storyboard/Animatic Preview!

Hey Eddheads! We're currently working on our most ambitious Eddsworld video yet. Sadly, you'll have to wait a while longer to see the finished project, BUT today we're sharing some exclusive storyboard and animatic previews with you on Patreon.

As some of you may know (or not) Beyond's first "season" was going to be comprised of what we affectionately called The Four Seasons, intended to take place over Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Beaster Bunny started this off but almost immediately following its release we went into an unforeseen hiatus. Though we are now back on track this has resulted in a Summer eddisode that will likely now be released during Winter (please not Spring). Unless you want to see it as a bold, political commentary about global warming... or inclusive of our Australian fan base?

The video will probably run to a full-on eddisode length of 8-10 minutes (if not longer, plus a whole bunch of extras and outtakes from the script) . It's being written/directed by Matt Hargreaves and Andy Clift, an animation and comic book veteran. Matt met Andy at the University of Creative Arts Maidstone, on the same animation course that Edd was enrolled on. During Edd and Matt's 1st year, Andy was 3rd year animation student who has since gone on to teach animation and has worked on numerous comics collaboratively as well as some really fun solo ventures.

After re-reviewing what we thought was a very complex script (which turned out to be 4 pages long), Matt and Andy overhauled it and it became the fully fledged beast it is now. We're all very pleased with it. It's always a good sign when you're crying with laughter at your own jokes (though, we may be biased).

They've been working with two amazing, dedicated storyboard artists for this one. (On previous Beyond videos the lead animator did most of the storyboarding, so this is a big step!) As a result, these storyboards offer a huge amount of detail and insight into how the finished film will look. The eddisode had the working title Beach for quite a long time but we're happy to officially announce it will be titled Surf & Turf Wars.
