DAN DA DAN: Episode 7 Reaction...💔

This episode BROKE ME...holy... you weren't kidding about having those tissues ready... 😭

Edit: Reflecting back to this episode…im still speechless. It was so beautifuly done. The symbolism, the perspectives, the angst and grief felt from this episode was unlike anything else. I realized in the moment that the mother had committed su$c$e by the sound of the impact but I was so in shock of it all i didnt process until after (and when I noticed that the lights were actually the cityscape around her)….and to…where did they take the daughter? Is she still alive? 😣 I don’t even want to think about it… this episode made me want to squeeze my mom and tell her how much I love her 😖

I love the fact that not only was the Yokai able to rest in peace.. But I think Aira got some well-needed closure about her mom aswell, even if it wasn't with her actual mom, she got to say things she probably would've said if she knew she'd never see her mom again. The fact that two people, pretty much completely unrelated in every way, managed to give eachother closure for something traumatic on both ends is just beautiful writing.

Its episodes such as these that make me love anime so god damn much man 🥹 they did not hold back in delivering that intense emotional impact

This was the first episode of this I loved. So beautiful and so sad. When she does the suicide saut-de-chat off the roof my heart plummeted with her even though I knew it was coming. There’s not a lot of information given in the flashback and it’s almost completely without dialogue. It causes you to weave together a story in your own mind to explain the patchwork of images so it hits you in a very personal way as it unfolds. A very simple storytelling device but very effective when it’s done well, as it was here. What a great episode. PS The ballet scenes were top quality animation. They really did research on that. Every move is accurately depicted.

That's exactly it...they did such a good job with this episode that i think it's going to be forever engrained in our minds now...

I get what you mean with your edit - I was a mess watching it but it felt like the longer I sat with it afterward the more sick to my stomach I felt. That we never get ANY update about the daughter is so haunting. It's like the kind of thing you'll just think about at 3 in the morning and be overcome with dread. Extremely painful watch but as a manga reader I don't think I could've asked for more, it was actual perfection.

I could rewatch this ep again and again man it was so well done 😫

Yeah I’m just awful with names and realized I never paid attention to how they pronounced it 😂

KrisKilins

I really like how they’ve been debunking the myths about these spirits and showing us the truth behind them…turning the ugly and scary into misunderstood wholesome and meaningful stories

The A is basically silent so it's I-ra or eye-ra. This episode was 11/10 for me. I knew what was coming as a manga reader but was still moved too tears.

ZEDLEY$

think it's pronounced Eye-ra
