So many hints and clues in the opening, not quite spoilers but more so "AH HA!" when the scene gets to the opening spot. I the the word for Jinshi's expression might be "gobsmacked". Xiao if not already mentioned means "little" so Gaoshun's nickname for Maomao got picked up by Lady Suiren. "Little cat" could be "Kitty?" 12:40 Cotton was expensive back then since hand labor was required to pick the seeds out of the cotton fibers it was slow labor intensive process. The outer palace has military offices so most men in the outer palace are not eunuchs.

2025-01-08 20:16:48 +0000 UTCI had the same feeling with Frieren. Since both were airing at the same time I felt myself comparing and contrasting the shows a lot. Both have first OPs which don't match the vibe but soooo good and perfect for attracting an audience to a new show. Then once everyone's settled in the second OP comes along for both and you're like. "yeah, I feel it".
