A small detail that I probably got too hung up on: when Seto is watching Kousei play, she refers to him as "Our son." I wonder if this is a translation thing. With how formal people tend to be in these shows, applying that familial level of connection would be saying something if the meaning is accurately applied. They certainly feel extremely close. And that would make her avoiding him after his mom's passing, even with the best of intentions, hurt that much more, as he would've effectively lost two moms in rapid succession.
