Oh I didn’t realise you were watching this live. I’m excited to go through this journey again with you regardless because this little series really does warm my heart and I think it will yours too! You learn a lot via the little texts shown on screen about the different dance styles and their cultural origins and significance as well as more about Hobi’s personal motivations. The songs we got out of ‘Hope on the street’ initially didn’t strike me as particularly heavy or ‘deep’ upon release but when I tie it to his little interview segments and conversations with Boogaloo Kin and the other dancers featured, it hits different. I hope you find it just as engaging!! Let’s gooooo, resubscribed just for this so excited agsdhdhdhdfh ok 🥹🥹 Much love Peachy!

"sexy big bird vibes" is not something I ever thought I'd hear said hahaha I'm so glad you're back to this series! I've been wanting to do a rewatch. As for what was going on around this time, I think episode 2 was fall 2022 around the time of the yet to come in busan concert, and episode 3 was after his mama awards performance (and prob around the time jin enlisted.) :( I think other than appearing on suchwita, etc, this project is the main thing hobi was working on from the end of 2022 to when he himself enlisted in april 2023. Although... he might have been doing some planning for the HOTS tour back then too, I suppose. He's always so many steps ahead!

Hobi's smile makes me smile too. How does one not smile when Hobi does?😁 you can see how much he loves dance through out this series.

Yes Hope On Tte Street is back!!! His mentors or teachers / dance street friends are so freaking talented, and the way this documentary was edited is incredible. It’s really informative as well and the music slaps 🔥 The way Hobi smiles while dancing is truly everything, I literally can’t stop looking at him too. He’s so charming! It was so sweet and emotional to see the teachers telling Hobi how proud they are of him, why they accepted to join this show not only bc he’s J-hope from BTS, how he grew up well and how despite all the fame he hasn’t change. They can see that kid that was so passionate about dance making questions with his eyes sparkling and honestly I can see that too through these series. It’s so freaking cute 😭💜

You know j-hope had a blog he kept pre-debut about the different styles of hip hop dance where he talked about the origins and the key aspects of each style so Hope on the Street was such a natural progression of that. When it comes to hip hop dance, he's a real student of the craft. I respect that so much. Especially since people tend to think "hip hop dance" is just one monolithic thing. You always hear people talk about j-hope having less versatility in dance than Jimin but they're both versatile when you think about how many different styles of hip hop dance j-hope has studied. They all have different techniques and require different sets of skills and Hobi has trained in them all...so Hobi is super versatile, too. I think it's super cool that Hobi dedicated so much time and effort to educating ARMY (and others who tuned in) about the rich diversity and technical difficulty of hip hop dance. I think (probably bc of it's origins in low-income communities of color), hip hop dance isn't perceived as something as technical and difficult as it actually truly is. I think a lot of ARMY inadvertently adopts that mindset, too. So I'm just grateful Hobi took the time to shine a light on the various styles, their origins, and their unique attributes. :) Hope On The Street is an education!

I loved rewatching this and it reminded me of the variety shows Hobi did. Please also add to your list I Live Alone and Omniscient Interfering View for future watching as it shows a day in the life of Hobi and interviews his manager too. And Jin and Hobi both have recent episodes of Please Take Care of my Refrigerator on Netflix. I also think Jin’s appearance on Screwballs (also on Netflix) would make a good Halloween watch as they are all dressed up in costumes and he looks so good!!
