Like I said before, I honestly really enjoy seeing an artist come into their own and it seem you're at a moment where your work is starting to evolve a bit, which is always exciting to witness. I think I get what you're saying. While it's always nice to see well-drawn fan art of a favorite character, that in itself isn't enough to make a piece truly appealing. It's those little touches here and there an artist brings to a piece that not only shows their love for a character or theme but also the artist's creative flair. We draw because we have ideas we want to bring to life and surprise others by bringing new twists into existing ideas. It's only right that those details are acknowledged; after all, that's your way of telling us how much you care about your portrayal of the character and the quality of your work. Also... realize that I'm not flattering you for flattery's sake; I know that where you are now is not where you wish to be - and that's a never-ending feeling for any artist. Still, when I find artists whose work and journey intrigue me, I like to do what I can to encourage them along the path, even if only for a passing moment or two. If any of this was easy, we'd all be top-notch artists. As such, I take considerable joy in appreciating what makes the artists I like and their work so likable and telling them about it. Regardless, just keep pressing forward doing what you love, and any other positives that come your way will be bonuses for you. 🙂

2022-07-10 08:56:54 +0000 UTCYou once again do Mako-chan tremendous justice, Red. I'll try not to build too high of a wall of text this time, but there are some things that catch my eye. First, while I said this before, I think you lineart is just excellent. With this piece in particular, I love how your lines accentuate the curvature along the entire backside of the body - the spine, the torso twist, and yes, that well-defined 🍑. Your lines are definitely a strength of your work, and you utilized them very well here. Nice choice of the bikini design, too. I like the strapless top/low cut bottom combination, and the pink/white polkadot combo is a refreshing mix for Makoto. Again, between the hat and now the color choices, it really does feel like Makoto's been taking cues from Haru, but looking at the bikini for the first time also felt familiar in relation to your art. A brief look through your gallery reminded me that the bikini's color scheme is very similar to that of the one you used in the Aerith piece, but as a matter of personal bias, I think Makoto pulls it off much better. 😛 Lastly, I can appreciate the little details here and there, like the Buchimaru sign and the imperfections of the wooded stair guide. You're quite good at adding small touches and Easter eggs for us to find and enjoy. And... that's about it! To think we'd blessed with ANOTHER swimsuit Makoto piece after the four-suit challenge exercise feels unfairly fortuitous, but if you enjoy drawing them, that's all that matters. Superb work!
