Because you're in a group of gamers who know how to RPG better than you. They all understand that you're talking about Larry the character, not Larry the player, and Larry the character's character sheet *says* she's hot. So there's litterally nothing wrong with what you said even if you were playing with people who bought into any of that toxic stuff. Also because everybody's actually breathing an internal sigh of relief because they were pretty sure you were that guy.

I remember being raised in that toxic masculinity hell, and how hanging out with the LGBTQAPK* crowd not only straightened me out, but many of those people I knew still in the toxic crap actually seemed to respect me more since I was no longer filled with my own identity doubts. In the end, it didn't matter that what was inside was not something that they woud've accepted. It was inside, they couldn't see. Just the fact that I was no longer worried about their approval was all it really took to get some of it.
