Sketchbook Tidbits

I've been having a bit of an art block so I started drawing more in my sketchbook without any commitment or pressure, so I figured I'd share some raw pages from my sketchbook. The only real commitment I made is I gotta fill up 2 pages of a sketchbook per day, which can be done very quickly if I'm just sketching and being loose.

A big principle with getting better in art is definitely collecting mileage - when you don't really feel like you can make something remarkable you just gotta put your nose down, let go of your ego and collect drawings until you break through a barrier and start feeling more comfortable. When commuting, waiting in line or just chilling with friends you can whip out a sketchbook and get a few scribbles in. There are a couple of drawings done like that here - often they're almost unrecognizable as something, but what matters with these is that you're training your mind to transfer what you see into a simplified 30-second drawing.

So if you build a habit of drawing any reasonable chance you get, you almost effortlessly collect more volume and inevitably improve. You will know it's an ingrained habit if you feel at unease when you're in a situation where you can draw a bit in the sketchbook, but you aren't doing it, and if it takes no effort actually starting to draw.

Hope this was useful :D
