2019-04-06 03:04:01 +0000 UTCI heard that the show was really expensive to film. Makes sense. I bet Fox was never really committed to it in the first place. Which is crappy. If you're going to do something, give it your all. It is a cool Space Western/Space Cowboy type of show. There are a couple shows on the SYFY channel that might have a similar flavor, but I don't think they can be called Space Westerns - KillJoys and The Expanse. There are ones in Anime, I hear.

2019-01-14 04:17:12 +0000 UTCGawd I love this show. This pilot was not two episodes. It was supposed to air as a 2 hour pilot episode. But Fox thought that it was too long, there were too many characters, that the audience wouldn’t understand the universe, and a lot of other crap so they made Joss and Co write an alternative pilot which is technically episode 2, “The Train Job”. So there’s a lot of expository info in that ep. and this, the actual pilot, didn’t air until after Fox had already cancelled the show. There were also problems with other eps being aired out of order and sports interrupting eps and making them air late. And after all of Fox’s atrocious interference they had the gall to say Firefly just wasn’t capturing an audience and cancelled it. What we got though was amazing. I’m so excited to go on this journey with you, and I hope you will also react to “Serenity”, the movie. 😊

I believe there's a beginning voice over in some of the episodes that will give you background info. Also they occasionally will speak Mandarin as a way to swear and speak indearments to eachother. Beacause in this fictional future on Earth America/Europe combined with Asia and became like a super power. Anyway I wont spoil the actual show I just wanted to give you some of the ground work. Also yay I love when people get into this show it's one of my favorite shows of all time sometimes even out running Buffy given my mood. 💜

2019-01-09 04:49:22 +0000 UTCKeep watching Supernatural and you'll recognize another actor from this pilot...Love this show, I also didn't watch it when it first came out and watched it later without knowing it was out of order...so this might make a bit more sense for me. Another show that is similar to this one(not sure you'd call it a Space/Western) is Farscape(my favorite Space/Scifi show)

For the fan of the show, Nathan Fillion is forever captain Reynolds, Summer Glau is River and not that Terminator girl, and Adam Baldwin (not one of Alec Baldwin brother, by the way) is Jayne Cobb always.
