This is early in the series and you've seen a lot more since watching this episode, but at this point you don't seem to realize that the Doctor hates killing, even if many people believe they deserve it. When he acts like he doesn't care he's just acting, he does it because he needs to do it so he isn't stuck feeling regret and he is able to move on.

2019-02-03 18:31:12 +0000 UTCThe Doctor really didn't even play the game he just glanced up at her and continued what he was doing.

2019-02-03 18:30:20 +0000 UTCThey kept harping on it. She kept saying something and they all kept reacting with I precieved as sympathy. Even the line " let's see who can look me in the eyes" when speaking about sending her to death they all kept looking away, even the Doctor. In the end I just think I interpreted the Episode different than you. You enjoyed moments more than I did. My main take away was the Micky Rose stuff. I just gravitated towards it more that's all. I'm glad you enjoyed it more than me. It seems to be how Doctor Who works in these first 11 episodes. It's about what story grabs you more.

2019-02-03 18:23:46 +0000 UTCI think you got caught up in her trying to get sympathy, the Doctor didn't give her any. At no point did anyone say she didn't deserve it. Sure at the end the TARDIS turned her into an egg thus giving her a second chance at life but everything before that was her trying to gain sympathy and them not buying it.

2019-02-03 18:19:22 +0000 UTCI caught the end of that, when he switched it back. I got the concept of the dinner stuff. I just didnt care much for that in a sense of humor. Becuase she is saying she has changed yet is trying to murder the Doctor. Just made me dislike still. I got the overall stuff happening just wasnt gripped by most of it.

2019-02-03 18:14:49 +0000 UTCYou missed some of the visual gags during the dinner scene. Like when she poisoned his wine when he wasn't looking and as soon as the doctor turned around he switched the glasses. You literally looked up right after he switched the wine glasses.

2019-02-03 18:12:40 +0000 UTCYea I caught that part. Just didnt react to it. Also the doctor said no big deal so I figured it was him just brushing it off.

2019-02-03 18:09:59 +0000 UTCI mentioned that. I was getting text and I wasnt watching. I could hear everything but was distracted by the text. That's what I said. I heard the dialogue and just wasnt invested. I didnt care about the story that much. I dont think I missed anything that would have made anything that much better. I still wouldn't have felt bad for the alien and the fact that everyone was so accommodating to it would have still been a big issue.

2019-02-03 18:09:05 +0000 UTCDid you catch the bit about Bad Wolf? I couldn't tell if you noticed it.

2019-02-03 18:08:20 +0000 UTCI don't think anyone felt bad for her, she was just trying really hard to make them feel bad. The other part of it is it's one thing to believe someone like Ted Bundy deserves to die but it's different to be the one that has to pull the switch.

2019-02-03 18:07:32 +0000 UTCIt seemed like you were watching something else through a lot of the episode, or texting or something.

2019-02-03 18:03:51 +0000 UTCThe Doctor even brings up her being a murderer while they are eating, even reminds her she was pleading for mercy out of a dead woman's mouth.

2019-02-03 17:39:02 +0000 UTCIn the end I gave it a 6 but I think I should not been so negative. I was distracted and not invested for the first about 20mins. I let the other episodes and the constant text I was getting bother me too much. That's on me. I do think it had several good moments. Although I enjoyed the Dinner Scene I couldn't get around everyone forgetting that she murdered so many people, especially the Doctor. The stuff with Micky and Rose was well executed and I think made them feel like a real relationship. Jack didnt really add anything to the Episode but overall I felt the Episode had more good than bad.

2019-02-03 17:32:23 +0000 UTCEpisode should have been a bit higher than what I gave.
Steven Merced
2019-02-03 17:27:39 +0000 UTCI was irritated at the beginning and was a bit harsher than I should have been on the Episode.

2019-02-03 17:27:03 +0000 UTCSome really good moral stuff here, return of the farting alien aside, lol.

2019-02-03 17:26:20 +0000 UTCFirst time I saw this I said "Oh no not the farting aliens again" but this was done soooo much better than the the earlier two part episode. I love the dinner scene especially.
