Each character is so different, and interesting, that we could have episodes where we explore just that character. Like Jaynestown in a way was, and Ariel for Simon. How good this show would have been in following seasons and bigger budget. Whedon must have been completely broken.

2019-04-01 22:29:12 +0000 UTCSo I believe it was while filming this episode Joss and the cast and crew found out Firefly was going to be cancelled. The composer for the show, Greg Edmonson, said that he came to the realization as he was writing the piece he had written for the funeral scene at the end of the ep, it actually transformed into being his goodbye to the show. Knowing this gives you a whole new perspective on that scene.
