you HAVE to have some levity after a heavy hitter like i only have eyes for you. You just have to. That being said...I skip this episode on rewatches.

2020-07-11 00:02:15 +0000 UTCI gave it a 7 because the description worked for me, but thought about the 8-10 range, because that speedo shot of Xander literally initiated me into puberty! So it has a very personal place in my heart.

2019-06-24 23:15:42 +0000 UTCI think Buffy took a pretty strong stance on it, when she slammed the rapist’s face into his steering wheel. The only ones that blamed Buffy, besides the rapist, were the coach (THE bad guy), and the principal (a petty bad person who in the same episode tried to get Willow to cheat for the team.) Clearly the people blaming Buffy are not people we respect. It would be different if someone we respected blamed Buffy, like Giles, but that would never happen. So I think the show took a strong stance. The coach that tried to have Buffy raped, got raped himself. Karma.

2019-04-30 04:16:20 +0000 UTCThere were very cringy moments throughout this episode- and I think the problem was that they weren’t addressed AT all in the episode. I like to think of this as a feminist show, but showing very realistic misogyny and attempted sexual assault and not clearly putting a stance on it- it was weird, and seemed unnecessary. And then the rape implication- and NOT condemning it/mentioning its abhorrence... made it even more weird. Personally, I enjoy this episode- and I just overlook that weird dated shit..

2019-04-29 21:13:48 +0000 UTCThis is one of the worst episodes of the first 2 seasons hands down and for me, one of the worst of the series.

2019-04-24 20:28:24 +0000 UTCI have grown to be okay with this episode. Gave it a 7 lol. Initially, i didnt like it at all but i think that's because it is placed in the mid of some high tension Angelous build up.

2019-04-24 11:37:13 +0000 UTCI'm mostly with Passion of the Nerd here: "What? It's terrible. Don't watch it." Only... the Cordy talks to Xander scene (not to mention the "under cover" line)... And... okay, yeah, that's pretty much it.

2019-04-24 04:59:03 +0000 UTCI was hoping you’d recognize Shane West in the episode. He plays Michael on Nikita. He was the kid who told Xander about the steam

2019-04-24 00:29:37 +0000 UTCAs much as I love season 2, my only gripe with it is there's too many silly episodes like this in it. I completely agree with you about the rapey vibe. It was really uncomfortable to watch. If they had done this in much better taste it would have been fine but it just creeped me out. I think that's why I hate "reptile boy" as well. It has that same sort of creepy feeling to it. Fortunately the last 2 episodes more than make up for it. Enjoyed your reaction and glad you pointed out the weirdness of it. I thought it was just me lol
