You seem like a reasonably smart guy, so why is it that you fail to realize that the big fans of this series, simply have different sensibilities than you do. If this series is only OK to you after a dozen episodes, then it will likely never be anything more. Some of us love this series and no amount of picking it apart will ever change that.

2019-10-23 14:12:24 +0000 UTCI agree that the mystery of the week is not compelling, but I think they were trying to parallel the resentful, abused son-star father struggle with Logan and his father. It didn't really work because the stakes feel higher with Logan, who is much more compelling anyway. I think Logan is clinging to his mother being alive not just out of love or grief, but because if she "escaped" (his wording) then that gives him hope that he can escape also, or at minimum, survive. Which makes Logan increasingly sympathetic.

2019-06-20 14:29:39 +0000 UTCI think the Logan story is what makes this episode good. I hated Logan in the beginning, but the more you learn about him, the more intriguing he becomes. The case is mediocre, because the whole point of it seems to be to bring in the flashbacks, but I always loved seeing more of Veronica and Lilly's friendship.

2019-06-18 11:12:50 +0000 UTCI get your point, and now i understand the "?" in the above reply. I certainly didn't mean it sarcastically. It's just that i asked him a couple of weeks ago whether he was going to continue with VM because he hadn't posted an episode in over a week and he seemed not overtly enthused with the show, to which he replied that he would try to post the following episode on time if not quicker. Hence my response of cool effort... the "bro" now seems kind of derivative but... what can you do. It's out there now...

2019-06-18 10:18:39 +0000 UTCYou mentioned in your last VM episode that this show doesn't seem to get as much attention on your channel as others shows. So I just want to say it gets my attention. This show and Buffy are the primary reasons I'm a Patreon. I'm enjoying your reactions and hope you continue on with this show next season. :)

2019-06-18 02:13:22 +0000 UTCLmao, the "cool effort bro" used seriously and not sarcastically. Rare to see one out in the wild like this. EDIT: I literally can't pull off saying those words WITHOUT it sounding sarcastic, I'm trying but nada.

2019-06-17 22:33:10 +0000 UTCWell i believe it's a problem with procedural shows that go on to have 20+ episodes. It's not possible to make the majority of cases on a weekly basis be about the characters. You can't do that. So most of the time the cases are somewhat independent of the main characters of the show and the episodes will have two ongoing stories, a case that usually has nothing or little to do with the main characters, and some main storyline that has to do with our main characters. It definitely is not my favorite format, but many show that i loved had this unfortunate structure (Chuck, Fringe, X-Giles - original- etc.). Still i greatly enjoyed them and Chuck and VM are among my favorite shows.

2019-06-17 22:31:26 +0000 UTCI'm glad I'm not alone. I want the characters to work better cases because they deserve them becuase they are really good characters. Just feels like a lot of the time they are not given much to do. I hope that changes.

2019-06-17 21:49:55 +0000 UTCAlso, yes you're mostly right. For me the majority of VM episodes are in the 7-8 variety. The cases are mostly 6s and 7s. However all the stories that have to do with the main characters are 8s and 9s and that is why this show is so cool. The stories and relationships between the characters are very very good. I also shared your amazement at how much i enjoyed Logan as the episodes passed. He started off as purely the asshole guy, but he morphed into a very interesting and enjoyable character to watch mainly because they give him amazing lines (i lolled the first time i heard him say to Veronica in the Christmas episode "Annoy tiny blonde one, annoy like the wind") and Dohring is crazy good in this. Anyway, keep going. From here to the end of season 1, bar 1-2 episodes, all are definitely 8s and 9s i think.
