I think you’ll find as you go through Gilmore Girls that it’s much more ‘Mrs. Maisel’ than ‘7th Heaven’. It’s the baby and brainchild of Amy Sherman-Palladino, who also wrote Maisel. You’ll need your wits about you for it though, if only for the West Wing-fast dialogue, and the pop culture (especially music) references. The show is definitely a quintessential dramedy - past of the first wave of not easily definable programming from the 80’s and early 00’s.
