Your second guessing "how does that work" nonstop is irritating. Hopefully you quit doing it later in your reactions. I'll keep watching a few more, but it isn't enjoyable to watch.

2019-10-15 00:00:31 +0000 UTCJust to resolve that one thing from last episode you mentioned at the beginning, Cura Te Ipsum, means "heal thyself". The full phrase is "Medice, cura te ipsum," which means "Physician, heal thyself". It's from the bible. The implication is that you should look to fix your own defects before trying to fix others. It works on a number of levels in this context, applying both to the doctor who the Machine targets (literally a physician) but also John, who ends the episode talking to a horrible person while reflecting on his own nature as a killer.

2019-06-25 18:09:42 +0000 UTCI really enjoy this episode a lot, so thank you very much for another great reaction for it. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I appreciated that this episode started off with a kidnapping, and I loved how it was the son of the judge who was the one in immediate danger, yet that the Machine gave Finch and Reese the judge's number instead. As for the ending... I think that you're right that it seemed silly for the kidnapper to let go of the kid once he gave the order for his men to kill everyone, but I feel like he simply did so to back out of the line of gunfire to avoid getting himself shot, expecting that one of his men would easily be able to shoot the kid first. Because he underestimated Reese's fighting and shooting skills. Plus... I don't think that the kidnapper even cared any longer if he lost all the money Reese took from them, if Reese were to die without revealing what happened to the money. He most likely figured he and his men could start over and find someone else to help them launder their money once the woman was dead too, since she became too much of a liability to them for causing all the trouble in the first place by hitting someone with her car upon foolishly getting too drunk one night. I was so happy that Reese was able to save both the judge and his son. I also really loved both scenes between Reese and Finch while at the diner, in the beginning and in the end. Finch suspects Reese is only trying to learn more about him, then they finally come to an understanding by the end when Reese thanks Finch for giving him a job, as a different way of saying thank you for saving his life. Thank you again! Until next time... I can't wait for more!!!

The judge didn’t have a lot of time to come up with a plausible way to sabotage a slam dunk case. So he was sloppy. The power imbalance between judge and prosecutor is pretty wide, so I don’t think realistically that a prosecutor can confront a judge so easily as you make it sound. Also it might be more obvious for the viewer who have all the information to see that there’s something wrong. On the other side it was established that the judge had a impeccable reputation, so it was not so obvious to suspect him of wrongdoing. Anyway this a solid episode, nothing spectacular.

2019-06-25 07:39:46 +0000 UTCThe machine beeing a bit of a mystery is a big part of it in the beginning, we pretty much get thrown in it like Reese and see it from his perspective not having any information about it and just slowly learning about it, how exactly it works, how it was made, and so on. About the jury and why they found her not guilty, either the evidence we know that exists never was shown to the jury because the judge excluded it or the Gang somehow targeted the jury aswell. Reese wasn't really sloppy I think, he carefully entered, tried to make as little noise as possible before entering the room but was just suprised because the long hair dude suddenly got back, no way that Reese could have anticipated that. Long hair missing his shoit is basicly the same reason, he just got back, was not expecting someone and got suprised and tried to get the first shot off before the other Person could realize someone was there and react but missed. Agree that the Judge was suspicous as hell during everything but I think it didn't matter for him, for him the priority was that she gets free, if he gets investigated after or not is not something he cares about since he just wants his son back and still thinks that if he gets her free he will get his son back, so it's his only priority. The whole "I try to do it so she stays free" was just for the kindnappers since he also tried to give Reese some time. The reason why he let the boy go in the end and didn't use him as a hostage was simply because he tried to buy himself a tiny bit of time to get away, if he would have kept the boy hostage he definitly would have become Reese first target, so in a way letting the boy go and directly attepmting to leave was his best shot at getting away, so yeah you can either view that as incompetent or not, both work if viewed from different perspectives.
