I really enjoyed your reaction to this episode. I'm glad you appreciated it and got from it what the story was trying to tell us. It is a really good episode. The mom is the same actress. Jensen is an amazing actor. He really embodies Dean when he does an episode. The chemistry between him and Jared can really sell the emotion of a scene and the brotherly stuff. The DVD has good commentary about this episode by the director and Kripke. The actress who played the other victim that Dean kept seeing is the same actress who plays Wynonna Erp. That's also a good show. Season 2 is one of the best season's for me. It's where the show really took off and got me hooked beyond just liking of a good show. I got really hooked into the story and the two brothers. I think several people said the same thing when you started. That season 2 is where a lot of people start really liking the show. I look forward to you watching the 2 part finale.

2019-06-26 04:50:11 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite episodes - for sure! It really showcases Jensen’s acting chops, as well as Kripke doing a great job in his role of first time director. The commentary track of this one (on the DVD) is a fun one to listen to. Kripke speaks about fighting to keep the episode going in the direction it did, plus he spends the whole episode “blowing smoke up Jensen’s ass” (his colloquialism for praising him). If you have the opportunity, it’s definitely one worth watching. || I’m glad you enjoyed the episode Stephen. I was looking forward to you getting here, though wasn’t sure you’d appreciate how special and gut wrenching 2.20 is because it’s not an action heavy episode and it doesn’t appear to move the main arc along. I should’ve had more faith in you. 🤓😜 XXOO

I cannot wait for you to watch the two part finale!!! It's the best season finale out of every season, easily. :) As for this episode... it was really, really good. So deep and so emotional too. 2019-06-25 22:45:11 +0000 UTCAnother of my favourite episodes, as others have said Eric Kripke mentioned in the commentary how awesome Jensen did in that graveyard scene and it’s true, you can’t help but go on that emotional rollercoaster with him. Also Samantha Smith who plays Mary Winchester is the original actress from Season 1, thats what’s great about this show is that the original actors/actresses all continue to return when the opportunity presents itself as it’s such a great cast & crew, most are happy to return and replay a role.

I never knew any lore about Jinns so for them to create a narrative for them was really good. I did't have any ideas about what they were and did before, so for the show to create one was pretty cool. I loved your reaction and I can't wait for the finale. I

Quick note - the monster is a djinn (one syllable, not two - pronounced the same way as "gin" in "gin and tonic"). Yes, it's more or less a genie, but I think that's the Westernised (or Disneyfied) term. And as with all monsters, it's the Supernatural version take on it.

Your different take on SPN is like rediscovering this show all over again for me, giving me a unique perspective on certain plot points. Not on this episode, on this one we are simpatico, but I can't remember if I've let you know that before so I'm letting you know now. Like you, I really enjoyed this different perspective on Djinn (pronounced Jin - the d is silent) lore. It makes the whole wish fulfillment thing more eerie to me. I love providing fun facts, though I'm not sure you see them, so here goes... Eric Kripke directed this one, and on the dvd he provided commentary. During Dean talking to John's headstone scene, he mentioned how well Jensen knocked that emotional scene out of the park. He said he knew just how amazing it was when he looked around at all the crew, who are basically these gruff truck driver types, and they were all wiping tears from their faces. *chuckle* If that scene doesn't hit a person in the "feels", then they're "Dexter" dead inside. Another interesting fact on this one is that the actress playing the near dead girl haunting Dean is Wynonna Earp.

2019-06-25 06:37:36 +0000 UTCYeah "What is and what she never be" is one of my all-time favs. It's the first time we really see how much this job affects the boys (mainly Dean) and the first time we are begged to ask the question "why are they responsible?"( A question that we definitely dive into). Anyway I'm glad you liked it as much a we did and just for the record...the same actress always plays Mary(the mom) her name is Sam Smith and she is the original. See you next time 😊
