Daredevil, like loads of other Marvel Comics, is based in New York. I was really surprised when I found out that "Hell's Kitchen" was a real place and not just some made-up comic book place. While DC chose to have their heroes in all these fictional cities (Metropolis, Gotham, Coast City, Star City, Central City and so on), Marvel's heroes are all based in real American cities.
