Derek never hurt Allison, he may have wanted info, but he never did anything and he got her home. Lydia is too much of a Mary Sue for me, she isn't a nice person and even If she has brains, she has to be miss popularity. Derek and Stiles have such great chemistry. I really could do without the Scott/Allison thing.

Since I don't want to give you any spoilers by explaining any of the lore at this point, my advise is to just keep watching and you will learn as we go on. Nice reaction thank you.

(Going to try to leave comments more). One thing I love about Teen Wolf is that the sport they chose to focus on was lacrosse. Normally, shows pick basketball, football or baseball as the school's focus sport so it's cool seeing them do something different. I never really knew much about the sport until this show and the game shots are always cool/fun to watch. Also, I'm pretty much back then, MTV was trying to find a way to balance their music side with this reality/scripted show side. They really pushed the music like you said. Whenever a song played on the show, a little strip with the artist and song title would pop up. Stiles is my absolute favorite character. Lydia is definitely the most popular girl in school, but it's more in the way of she wants to be the best at everything. She's dating Jackson because he's the best/star lacrosse player. All her comments have been about being the best and wanting to be with the best. She's the smartest in school (you pointed out that Lydia was distracting Scott while he was doing the math problem, but she was also doing her own problem...while barely paying the board any attention). She's not above manipulation, and yeah, Scott following along with her is because of his own insecurities. Literally right before the bite (a few days before this episode), he was a "loser" kid with one friend and a bad case of asthma. he's been thrusted into a new world (doubly so) so he's floundering. Plus he's 16 so he's dealing with a lot of changes at the moment lol. Coach Finstock is such an underrated gem in this show. He's a true wildcard with the things he says lol. Not to give anything away (though Stiles did mention it in episode 1), werewolves have a bloodlust they need to control....which Scott clearly hasn't figured out how to do yet. It's an overwhelming urge to just attack whatever is close. The issue with him on the field was that he *was* going to shoot the final shot, but the bloodlust was growing and they were all pretty much crowded him. Add on the surrounding energy and he was going to snap if he didn't get out of there. I don't think he blacks out completely, but there's definitely a haze around him where he's not fully sure what's going on. When it comes to the lore within Teen Wolf, they'll tell you. It might not be right away or all together, but you'll definitely learn everything you need to (no side Google-ing needed lol). Season 1 was ROUGH. There were a lot of creative choices that didn't need to be there. The music definitely doesn't go away, but it does get *much* better as well as the videography/editing/effects.
