In S1, people question the point of Caroline and Matt, now it is starting to show why they had the relationship. Damon has got a lot of hard work on his hands to make things up to Elena. The myth and lore on this show is excellent. Looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Yup, not a lot of shows stay consistent to their own foundation but Vampire Diaries keeps adding to it, creating a multi-layered universe that feels real. One bite from a Werewolf to kill a Vampire? That would make for one powerful adversary!
