2019-07-05 23:00:53 +0000 UTCGreat reaction :) With regards to Carter making her decision - she was clearly deeply conflicted about making that call to Snow - the way she hesitated dialing the number. And in the cafe when they were telling her about Reese, she was clearly struggling with whether to believe them or not -- not that he was a bad guy, but a man broken by the things he'd had to do in service of his country and now a danger to himself and others. In her mind, I suspect she thought she was helping him - when the sniper shot Reese, she began to doubt Snow's intentions - but, she is still a cop, and she has been chasing Reese, so I think her initial instinct was to go after him as a cop - but as she saw blood on the stairs, and then saw Reese being helped by Finch, who she recognised from the lockup case, it seemed to click in her head that maybe, they weren't the bad guys at all - just outside the law and very much in danger from the men who just shot Reese. It seemed to me like she was already half way there - they have after all built up something of a rapport over the last few episodes

2019-07-05 20:33:34 +0000 UTCWith Carter, the fact that the CIA guys had told her all of that stuff about John killing people came into question when they shot him out of nowhere because they had also told her that they were just going to bring him in and keep him safe. Then they shot him so all of a sudden she’s not sure whether what they told her was true.

2019-07-05 16:39:43 +0000 UTCWhen Finch said "usually" he was referring to the time he did it before he met John, Finch did this work for some time before already if you recall the first episode as an example, or the Episode with Zoe where he talks about missed chances. So while we haven't seen it yet, Finch has. When the two girls met, Reese didn't really hesitated, he waited if she would raise her gun, since she didn't he didn't shoot since it would be hard to kill someone when the gun is pointing at the ground. So even thugh she had the gun he wanted to make sure that she is the bad guy just in case she isn't. Carters choice wasn't honestly that weird, Carter in her heart is a good person, remember how she felt about the special forces guys killing Yussef because they thought he was a bad guy and her respons that they aren't judges? Snow and the CIA basicly did the same, they lured John through her to a meet and then shot him once he said he isn't coming "home" trying to kill him. This goes against Carters whole beliefs so she decides to let him get away (also in part because John helped her and she has her doubts about the CIA claims and starts to see that John is actually helping people). Why Reese could get away from the sniper, when he fell down he shot out the lights of the car which where needed for the sniper to see him since those were the only lights shining on John making him "visable".

You forget that we’ve seen in flashbacks that the machine was operational before Reese started working with Finch. So it’s not unconceivable that it happened before.

2019-07-05 10:36:03 +0000 UTCThis a great episode. I think that they manage to balance well the main plot, which was sufficiently intriguing and executed well, and the subplot, which was even more interesting. What was implied about Reese in the last episode is stated clearly in this one.

2019-07-05 10:27:17 +0000 UTCWow!! I really love this episode a lot. Overall... I love the complexities and storylines between the four people who stole the money from the car crash throughout this episode. And I loved that this episode also brings in the CIA agents from Reese's past in. In regards to the car bombing, I think they chose to have the killers go this route so that they wouldn't necessarily be seen, or so that the police might not suspect the woman with a baby carriage as a killer, and a bomb allows for them to walk away unnoticed. Finch and Reese are suspicious of everyone and everything, allowing them to notice her. Finch just couldn't save the guy in time. I love how Reese saves the two women from the killers, including the nurse, who I didn't suspect to be a killer until we immediately see her for a second time. Reese doesn't care she's a woman. He knocks her out flat and takes out the shooter without hesitation. It's great! However, my favorite moment in the episode is in the end between Reese, Carter, and Agent Snow. I so wasn't expecting the agent with the sniper rifle on Reese to suddenly shoot Reese, not just once, but twice. Once in the stomach and then in his leg. And he's wounded badly. I love that Finch races to Reese so he can save him, and I love the phone conversation between them as Reese thanks Finch for saving him before and giving him a second chance. It's a very touching moment and it shows how far their friendship has grown. In regards to the sniper failing to see where Reese and Carter disappeared to, Reese took out the lights from the parking garage shining down on him out by shooting them, making where he was standing too dark for the sniper and Snow to see. Carter then ducked down and ran after Reese, in the direction where she most likely believed he had run to. Plus... bullets were flying, so the situation became chaotic and distracting. And lastly... with Carter letting Finch go with Reese so he could save him, not only did Carter know how wrong the CIA agents were for suddenly shooting Reese, who did not have his weapons drawn at the moment he was shot, but she was also grateful to Reese for him having saved her life before. And it's because he did, and all he's done to try to save as many people as she knows he has, she suspects that the agent's story about Reese being a stone cold killer to be nothing but a load of crap. Her gut is telling her that there's much more to Reese and Finch than meets the eye, and she wants a chance to hear his side of the story. Hence... the reason why she sold Reese out hoping that she and the agents could bring him in, not kill him. I love this episode so much and the next episode is really good too. I can't wait for tomorrow for more! Thank you again, so much! Until then...
